Hunter Green vs. Avacado Water Test

I showed the difference between Noodler Hunter Green and PR Avacado in a different thread...

I let them both dry overnight and then cut the paper in half and subjected one half to a 10 minute water bath in a shallow tray... I allowed the paper to dry and then taped them together from the back side...

The results are interesting...

I expected the Avacado to go "bye bye", but instead it left a medium magenta version of the original writing...

The Hunter Green reacted as I expected and showed almost no difference in color or shading..

Here is a pic of the results.... I will be doing a Chromatography example of both and a mix I did of Hunter Green and Avacado with a touch of brown and black later this weekend..

Wow, a magenta component in PR Avacado?!  I've seen other unlikely components, especially in brown inks.

Thanks, Tom :D !

Home chromatography on a cellulose-reactive ink: if only non-cellulose paper towels were effective, cheap and easily available!

Very interesting indeed! Thanks Tom!

I am particularly amazed by the result you got with PR Avacado. That was about the last thing I expected to happen!
