Dare we start discussing nibs yet???? :hmm1:

We've discussed this...although I cannot find the series of threads. Ideally we would ask for a bi-color nib reminiscent of the 50s nibs to maintain the character of the pen.

I would personally ask for a full range of nibs and obliques, but we'll work that in time, I'm sure.

Flex nibs like what we vintage lovers find on 50s pens...we may be waiting.

Hard times don't last, but hard people do.

Thank a Veteran.

I don't mind the wait...........and the bi-colour nibs with flex would be perfect. Can we hope for italic?

I find this so exciting - I love my MBs - and this one will be so special!! :cloud9:

I doubt it. They don't make an italic nib on purpose now, so I wouldn't think one would be offered. It might be pushing it to ask for the range of nibs currently offered on Meisterstucks. Special grinds will probably be left up to the new owner.

I think I'll go for a B or BB and if I want I can get it reground later.........but going by what I see in writing samples so far - the stub will be lovely!

I've just signed up for one B nib green striated pen with Solomon. :roflmho: I'm so psyched! Add my chorus of gratitude to Fred and Solomon et al for the efforts and I'm staying very hopeful for the results. Now if only my Solitaire citrine would come back from Texas :( ....I guess it's true, anticipation, is keeping me wa-a-a-a-aiting........

Humble,

If you read further in the thread, you will see that Niksch is also involved as our technical advisor. He tore down and examined an original, photos of which appear here.

I decided to look back through this thread, and the original thread (link is in the first post here), and this started out as a joke, but the interest was genuine!

An update. The contact for the celluloid source is on a family vacation. When he returns, I hope to get a slice of striated celluloid.

If anyone on the buy list is in publishing or graphic design, please contact me. I am also looking for a solicitor in the UK on the buy list for this project (not for litigation!).

Fred

Dear all,

we are nearing the final score and for those of you who are as yet undecided this would be a good time to put in your reservations.

We have seen what pre-owned straited 146s go for, even here in FPN. This is an outstanding deal - just think of the resale potential if nothing else.

Once again, I can be contacted at:

solomonvarma@hotmail.com

Stay well,

Solomon

I want one!! :puddle: ....did I miss the boat???

This is only an FYI, but green striated celluloid is now in the pipeline and should be cured by January. As to whether Montblanc will go for it, it remains to be seen. Watch this space!

Hi Eric,

Copied from above -

If you want one of these glorious fountain pens (or if the pens are numbered (not decided) and you want a lower number rather than a higher number), get on the list by sending your email to Solomon (FPN ID: varmas) stating your interest and how many pens you want. The target price had not changed as of today, but we'll let you know as things develop, of course.

Email address: solomonvarma@hotmail.com

Please don't use PM to contact Solomon. And note that Solomon is in Singapore, so due to time differences, don't expect an immediate reply. Please be patient.

Great project! Thanks for all your hard work on this one. My husband just requested to get on the list. He has really caught the MB bug lately as have I.

Ashley
