If you happen to have a Sakura-Kawa in blue you could bring along, I'd love to see one.

Sure thing, would that be regular or grande ;-)

See ya soon!

Wait a minute! Grande? Bigger than a Takumi? Can you post a pic for those of us not going cuz we're on the other side of Cali? Pretty please?

You mean you missed them at the LA show?

Here you go... Grande...

Lord Danitrio,

I was a humble servant at the time of the LA Pen Show; ignorant to their treasures... Now I'm a master at recognizing Maki-e from 500 feet away! :roflmho: That Mikado is SEXY! I REALLY love painted clips.

Hello fello Pen Posse,

I mentioned to the boss of Danitrio about our little gathering and also about the The Danitrio Fellowship, he was truly amazed and wanted to do something nice for the members. Since it's not as easy to figure out who is actually in the "Fellowship", I tought it's easier to start with the Pen Posse, so I would need to know a rough count as to who will be there Sat. I don't want to left anyone out. So, if you would either post here or PM me or email me (do only one of the 3 please), that would be great.... But I need to know this latest by Tuesday night to give him enough time to ship the stuff. Thanks.

Kevin

I'm getting one of these Cherry Mikado's. When I saw it in LA, I almost fell over. It had not occurred to me that you could get a sakura in Mikado. Next I want a Nani-nuri in Mikado!

Man, I so wish I could come. You are having all the fun. I am going to make the Santa Barbara Meeting happen!

:crybaby: We won't be there!! :crybaby:

Oh the tragedy of being so close to Urushi AND Maki-e yet so far. :crybaby: I guess my wallet will thank me later and my marriage will be saved! (That's all you care about, Keven, isn't it?! :ltcapd: :notworthy1: )

I'm more a part of the Posse, as all I have from Danitrio are cases. I'll try to get out there next Saturday in time. Will people be there for three hours or four?

Is anybody else into origami? You/we have to catch Paper Tree before they close. And we need Yasukochi's Sweet Stop coffee crunch, but also a place to eat it.

Does anybody have and know how to use a Vac block or wrench? I got a Parker "V.S." that might be fun to play with, though it doesn't need it.

I was trying to figure out what looked different than the photos I'd seen before, and I finally did:

There seems to be less color variation. Is that a change in the Grande?

Four days to Pen Posse Nihonmachi.

May's Coffee House at 11:00. Japantown.

I don't know how long it'll go. I think the usual is two hours -- which FLY BY! But considering the buzz for this particular meeting, it might go longer.

Remember to bring your inks for Ink Swap if you're interested in that.

See you there!

Yay!

Anybody have any special requests? I'll bring my 'book of inks', hopefully a glass nibbed pen and a bunch of Preppys to write ink samples with in your notebooks if you care to. I'll also bring some extra fine and finer nibbed pens. I'm really looking forward to meeting some new faces and seeing ones from previous posse roundups. I'm also looking forward to seeing some of these pens discussed in this thread.

I just found out that I can make it. I've got a '50s Skater that fits right into the theme of the day.

Where the heck are all of you?

I've called the numbers I have, and I'm in too much pain to try looking into every freakin' place in the mall to try to find you. If no one replies soon, I'm going home.

Here's the phone number and address for a May's Coffee House in Japantown:

Hope you found them.
