Yup, I'll add my thanks too! B)

Now, your great review has helped me make my decision (which my wallet will have a word or two about).

My husband and I have been using the Bulletproof Hunter Green for about two weeks now. We had been using the PR Spearmint.

My husband loved it immediatly in the Namiki VP he swiped from me, but it took a little time for me to get used to it in my Pelikan M805.

Now I love it too.

Hope it starts coming in larger bottles, 'cause it's an expensive habit to have as is.

We're hooked anyway. : /

Tara, how much does Noodler's Hunter Green creep over the Pilot VP's inner working unit?

N's Black, Blue-Black and (through Pendemonium) Legal Lapis have behaved pretty well in my VP, creeping over the nib only (I don't mind that much creeping), while N's Eternal Luxury Blue crept all over the inner unit no matter how often I cleaned it off! I hadn't overfilled it, either. I'm using Legal Lapis in my VP now, very happily.

It creeps all over the place inside the VP. And all over the nib.

But it wipes/washes right off the pen (and hasn't gotten on us), so we're not too bothered.

So far, no problems. :)

  • 1 month later...

i have a minor gripe. I thought since it's waterproof I'd use it to fill out a customs slip. Well, everything feathers on those and it didn't feather too much so I thought it was no big deal - but then I used it on a Levenger 3x5 and was surprised to see it really spread out on there. I've used every other kind of ink I've ever owned on those cards and of all of them (I'm guessing over 40 inks) the only other ink that has feathered on those cards is Levenger Cocoa. So I was a little disappointed. Not that it's a big deal - just surprising.

KCat, that's very odd. I also use Levenger 3x5 cards, with Hunter Green (Parker Sonnet, stub nib that's on the wet side), and have no feathering at all.

Maybe it's the particular card, or batch of cards, instead of the ink.

Three other cards, two other batches. It still feathered though much less so on the older blue cards. The white cards were bought about the same time as the blue but are of course, white. One set of white cards was lined, the other grid. both showed major feathering.

it would still be a two-fold issue - ink (as i said, no other inks feather on these cards*), cards (maybe new white Levenger cards are better?)

I guess someone will have to send me a bunch of new Levenger cards for me to test the ink on those. :)

I really should stop hoarding my blue cards - i probably still have over 1000 (got a deal on 1250 when they stopped making them - soooo purdy.) Pretty much down the last 20 white cards.

Other papers are fine - the line is broad (relative to the nib) but not feathering on Clairefontaine. On the Rhodia it's perhaps a slightly broader line still.

*see the above mentioned Cocoa ink.

Or maybe it's just because you're down nearer the Gulf. How close to Houston are you? Proximity to Buffalo Bayou could explain a lot. :P

Bone dry and featherless in N. Texas.

heck, it's worse'n that, Bill. I'm in League City - a short drive from the bay.

still doesn't explain the better behavior of other inks.

I went to write with it in my Black-and-Red notebook this a.m. and it feathered too. :(
