HELP: Fountain Pen Friendly Thank You Cards

I want to find fountain pen friendly notecard stationary-- like a thank you card. The paper should be like a clairefontaine notebook... smooth, no feathering, good with wet pens... etc. Please help with as many choices as possible.

Thanks!!

I've had very good luck with the cheapest Thank You cards at the local stationary store. The were $3.95 vs. the $8 or $14 options. If they don't work you're not out much. They were in a bag, not a fancy box.

FWIW, I second the Crane recommendation. Their paper takes fp ink very well and comes in a variety of very nice colors. I also like the idea of getting a single batch of plain cards for all occaisions rather than pre-printed Thank You, Get Well, etc... cards.

I like Crane paper, highest quality and tree-free. ^_^

If it were me, I would choose notes that don't have the pre-printed "Thank You", but if that's what you're looking for they seem to have a good selection.

I love the notecards from Dempsey and Carroll based in New York City. They offer a nice 3-ply or 4-ply card which can be purchased blank or printed/embossed with your name in a 4 and 2/8 inch by 6 and 3/8 inch size. There is even an incredible 6-ply version which is thick enough to substitute for drywall if you want to remodel a room! I've written on samples of all of them and found them to be very good. They are, however, all at the high end of the price spectrum, but hey, don't you want to do your part to stimulate the economy? Check them out on the web at www.dempseyandcarroll.com.

I third the Crane paper suggestion. I have not had a problem with anything purchased from them (including thank you cards, dog correspondence notes, initial correspondence notes, Kate Spade notes and paper). Uh, yeah, I like Crane's work! For the record, I do buy both plain paper and thank you imprints. The plain cards work very well for thank yous, sympathy notes, birthday wishes, or whatever.
