I've cleaned all my pen before the summer vacation and since I've been back I've inked and used just the Hemingway with a 1950's EF vintage nib & feeder and a L139 with flexy B nib. Both inked with MB Racing Green. Today is Hemingway's turn...I love this pen.

It is really a Hemingway-day.

You have nice accesorries. Are those gloves or is that vintage penpouch?

Thanks...the olive leather accessory is a 3 finger pen pouch... there is a similar one for sale on ebay. It's actually a good deal because I paid more for mine. I like this style of pouch as each pen is in its own sleeve and not to mention the workmanship is very high. I have several of these pouches in various colors and configurations. They came in 2 and 3 finger designs. The Hemingway/139/149 do fit in them, a bit snug at first, but with use they expand a bit and fit better.

cheers

Dear Wael,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I followed the link. It mentions that is only for US.

Unfortunately I live in Europe. No worries, within 2-3 weeks I hopefully can pick up the Collodi at the boutique.

Maybe they have some stock left.

From what year are they?

Kind regards,

KJY

KJY,

I believe they're from the 90's but I am not sure as I bought all of them used. I'm very fond on MB Pouches and have many styles and colors. I believe I have all the styles they made except Florence, which I want badly.

If you contact the seller and tell them your location in Europe, and you're willing to pay a bit extra for shipping, they normally agree. Actually I've bought items on ebay from sellers in Germany that would only ship within Germany (not pens), once I contacted them and told them I really want this item and have no problem covering the extra shipping, they agreed. Try your luck. Hope you get your Collodi soon too.

cheers

146 Doue Steel with MB Lavender

the 149 never leaves rotation. If I take it out I miss it too much.

Hemi with Kon-Peki: one of my favorite combinations

Beautiful pen !

I never buy pens dated later than 1956 with the exception of the Hemingway because it reminds me of the L 139 OBB I am using today...

Cheers

Today it's my brand new 146 with custom ground F nib by Mike-it-Work. It's filled with Iroshizuku Kon-Peki. Fantastic!

I would love to see a writing sample of the 149 with OM nib. I've been very curious about this nib for some time now but the 146 OM test pen I tried seemed in bad shape and didn't write very nicely. I suspect the 149 OM nib would be a little wider than its equivalent 146 nib and would be a really great pen.

Use it in good health.

cheers

I have been using my Boheme Marron today. It has a medium nib and has an MB Royal Blue cartridge installed. This was my first MB fountain pen, and I bought it new from the Pen Shop in Edinburgh. At the time I thought it would be my one and only MB as I couldn't imagine spending that amount on a pen ever again! Little did i know what it would lead to.........!

I have also used my green/black striated Pelikan M600 with OB nib, and my Lamy 2000 with OM nib.

My Thomas Mann and George Bernard Shaw Writers Edition fountain pens were flushed out, cleaned and taken out of rotation for a while.

  • 2 weeks later...

The 146 Solitaire Gold Barley with fine nib I recently purchased has returned from Montblanc fully serviced and looking like new. They replaced the feeder case, ink feeder, spiral piston, piston, screw and cone. It is now filled with Mystery Black and has been my pen of choice today.
