I'm using an Alexandre Dumas (the father) WE with a medium nib. The ink is Akkerman's Holfkwartier Groen.

Please pardon the redundant double post. I need to go to uploading college for a few years. A twelve year old has more technical skills than I !!

I'm using my favorite Montblanc broad--pure silk--with some fantastic new Akkerman's ink:

My parents are Dutch and I have a Dutch passport, but was born in Costa Rica and raised abroad. At present I live in the Caribbean.

The Akkerman inks perform great in my MB pens. The only ink that I have had some difficulty with is the 'Akkerman Ijzer Galnoten bl/zw' a fantastic blue/black color, but with a lot of pigment and not the best flow in my pens. I highly recommend the Akkerman store in The Hague for any pen enthusiast visiting Holland. They have a fantastic selection and excellent service (ask for Mr. Paul Rutten). Their website is: www.pw-akkerman.nl. No relation, other than being a very satisfied customer. My last purchase there was their 100 year anniversary limited edition Orange Parker Duofold Centennial FB and matching BP.

This pair (my apologies for the mediocre quality of the picture; only have my IPhone at hand.....):

Archimark: thanks again for the excellent transaction. I am very pleased with the 149!

Nice combo.

Are you a Dutchman?

Nice inkchoice. If I am correct the ink comes from The Hague? Are they working good with the MB's?

Thank you for your background information and comment. I live in The Netherlands and had purchased my Mann at Akkerman. Indeed wonderful help/assistance by Mr. Rutte.

@ Professor Plume also thanks for the reply.

I think I have to head to The Hague within some months. Maybe I can catch a glimp of the new WE by that time.

Enjoy your new inks!

My preferred supplier (no affiliation just a very happy customer):

What a coincidence! I use the same color ink in my Fitz, except my ink is Waterman Violet and my Fitz has a fine nib. Nice handwriting!

Hello Blade Runner,

what great photos these are! I'm awestruck by your 146 with the original barleycorn finish. What a beauty and, yes, that pen just calls for turquoise; funny how some pens tell you what ink they require. Have you seen the new 146 with the barleycorn finish? I think it has a mother-of-pearl element on the cap. I'd enjoy hearing your thoughts on this pen. Thanks for posting these engaging photos!

I just got a Dumas with an OBBB from Bryant. What a delightful experience! :cloud9: I was a little afraid to load anything but MB ink after reading the attached booklet, but looking at some of the other posts I see that is not a real concern for most folks. I have only used MB ink in my 149 since I bought it in 1993 ... I guess it is time to step out a little. Perhaps this Dumas will get me to post some pictures for the first time.

Yes the new barleycorn is gorgeous too, although the finish is quite different, and I was surprised they used barleycorn to describe it. With the exception of the clip's diamond, the zigzag finish of the latest version looks more masculine to me.

I've seen all 3 variants, and the gold is the most beautiful, but very expensive. I will "settle" for the full sterling one day.

Since 19th of March I have been happy owner and user of the Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 from the early 80's (B nib size). The Pelikan 1000 I exchanged on this pen. The MB has a few scratches, which are result normal using, but... I'll not polish and delete this tiny line. The scratches are practically unvisible.
