What MBs are you using today?

Blade Runner

Recommended Posts

Received this one recently...

A 1960's 18C broad shouldered (EF) nib. Reground and smoothed by MikeitWork with original ebonite feed. A small hairline crack in the section (not leaking) but otherwise in good working order as a 'user pen'.

Nib writes smooth, nice feedback (a request I made). Iroshizuku Tsukiyo. The broad shouldered, 1960's 18C nib is quite rigid and not unlike the modern nib of today.

Apologies for the quality of the photo. iPhone4 camera in indoor lighting.

  • 2 weeks later...

Earlier this week I actually filled my Dostoevsky with ink having only previously dipped it. Tried Lamy and Pelican ink in it as MB blue/back feathered on Moleskine when writing after dipping the pen. Lamy and Pelican ink was way to dry for the Fine nib it has. Now filled it with MB blue/black and it writes a dream.

Also currently got my Twain (used at work), Cervantes and Faulkner inked.

At the weekend I intend to ink my Christie for the first time. The goal is to use MB black in it.

My Collection: Montblanc Writers Edition: Hemingway, Christie, Wilde, Voltaire, Dumas, Dostoevsky, Poe, Proust, Schiller, Dickens, Fitzgerald (set), Verne, Kafka, Cervantes, Woolf, Faulkner, Shaw, Mann, Twain, Collodi, Swift, Balzac, Defoe, Tolstoy, Shakespeare, Saint-Exupery, Homer & Kipling. Montblanc Einstein (3,000) FP. Montblanc Heritage 1912 Resin FP. Montblanc Starwalker Resin: FP/BP/MP. Montblanc Traveller FP.

Been toting one of my 149s all day. This was my very first 149, so it's kind of a sentimental favorite. Had to fill it when I got home over the weekend. Got it filled up with Heart of Darkness, which I find amusing for some reason or another... :roflmho:

"Here was a man who had said, with his wan smile, that once he realized that he would never be a protagonist, he decided to become, instead, an intelligent spectator, for there was no point in writing without serious motivation." - Casaubon referring to Belbo, Foucault's Pendulum.

Thanks to a recent thread concerning the vintage Montblanc 334 1/2 I'm using mine, 14C fine gold nib and J Herbin Cafe des Iles. Also a 146 with OBB nib and Noodlers Tiananmen. Nope, I'm not afraid of Noodler's ink.

146 Stainless steel Solitaire + MB Violet. The violet looks very nice in a broad nib.

I agree! I use a black resin 146 broad nib (my first MB FP) with violet (albeit Waterman ink since the first FP I obtained was a Waterman) as well. This is my signature color for all of my personal letters and writings.

Regards, Stephen

my noblesse oblige with green ink (RB). I have it in school with me now, got it as a bar-mitzvah present.

my 149 (just to keep the ink from coagulating and it has massive presence).

My pen checks and cracks... my strat's nitrocellulose finish checks and cracks. Could that mean that the fancy precious resin is the same stuff that Fender uses to cover their guitars?

-Just a thought....
