My Thomas Mann with medium nib and MB Royal Blue, also my Waterman Carene with fine nib and Waterman black, but I know that doesn't count in this forum!

149 with B nib, inked with Waterman South Sea Blue, with a gorgeous ink effect just after inking.

Strangely, it looks nothing like SSB in the image!

Hello,

I was wondering if you could tell me how to get a Montblanc Meisterstuck priced and where the best place to sell one would be? I am not a pen collector, but I do have one I would like to sell. Thanks!

Cindy

I'll be packing a 1990s 149 fine nib filled with MB blue black, an unsaturated slate blue with nice shading that has a beautiful vintage/weathered look. Probably my favorite ink of all time. My back up is a 1980s 146R medium nib filled with Pelikan blue black, a pretty nice shade of blue too, though darker. They'll be carried in my new old stock Diaries and Notes tan 2 pen case.

Cindy,

Price guidance on Montblanc items is often found on the various websites that specialize in used Montblanc pens, from the "completed auctions" listings on eBay, etc. While members do occasionally post price questions here in the Montblanc forum, the outside sources I mention are where most of us get our sense of prices for used pens. If you can't find the model anywhere else, we may be able to help.

Members of the Fountain Pen Network forum site can post for-sale advertisements in the For Sale forum that's part of this site. However, our rules require 30 days and 30 posts of participation before members are allowed to post for sale ads. Additionally, the posts have to be part of discussions, not just added to increase post count.

Warmest regards,

Joel

Today I am using my new (to me) 146 with scratchy italic nib. It's filled with Toffee Brown ink, which is quite pleasant, although a little lighter than I was expecting. I already like the size of the 146, and am looking forward to trying the 149 :)

After using the MB 149 & Dumas for so long, I thought I'd put the venerable MB 146 back into rotation. And it's the perfectly sized pen. Such ergonomics. Poise. Beautiful feedback, delightful nib.

Apologies for the low res pic - iPhone 4 doesn't handle low light indoor images at 10pm too well.

Ink is Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo... still one of my favourite inks for it's colour & saturation although it does take a little while to flush out.

In Rotation: MB 146 (EF), Noodler's Ahab bumblebee, Edison Pearl (F), Sailor ProGear (N-MF)

In storage: MB 149 (18k EF), TWSBI 540 (B), ST Dupont Olympio XL (EF), MB Dumas (B stub), Waterman Preface (ST), Edison Pearl (0.5mm CI), Noodler's Ahab clear, Pilot VP (M), Danitrio Densho (F), Aurora Optima (F), Lamy 2000 (F), Visconti Homo Sapiens (stub)

Starwalker Black Mystery with a nice broad blue refill for signing all day. The fusiform shape at the grip is very comfy, and I love this "data-centric" design.
