What MBs are you using today?

Starting to get a bit more use out of my WE.

My Verne has now been inked for about a month and is being used regularly at work. Everyone loves the barrel and weight of this pen when they see me using it. This has blue MB ink.

Last night I inked my T.Mann with MB Oyster Grey ink. Still can't decide whether I like the ink or not but the weight of the pen in the hand is lovely and last night I found myself looking for excuses to write lists and get use out of the pen.

Once I've made a decision on ink to be used in my T.Mann, I think I will alternate this and the Verne as my work pen.

My Collection: Montblanc Writers Edition: Hemingway, Christie, Wilde, Voltaire, Dumas, Dostoevsky, Poe, Proust, Schiller, Dickens, Fitzgerald (set), Verne, Kafka, Cervantes, Woolf, Faulkner, Shaw, Mann, Twain, Collodi, Swift, Balzac, Defoe, Tolstoy, Shakespeare, Saint-Exupery, Homer & Kipling. Montblanc Einstein (3,000) FP. Montblanc Heritage 1912 Resin FP. Montblanc Starwalker Resin: FP/BP/MP. Montblanc Traveller FP.

All the best.

I just bought my first Fountain Pen (I've had ones before but they were gifts and so-so hand-me-downs) -a MB 149. I wanted to get the 146 in platinum, but since the salesperson gave me a discount, I got the 149 for the price of the 146. :)

I'm so happy!

Which MB am I using today?

Nothing fancy - a plain old MB 149, which has become my favorite these days, with 14C Extra Fine Nib and Sheaffer Skirp red ink. Thanks to Eric Niksch's help in dating it (and servicing it to a virtual brand new state), it's an early 1970's model with a solid, un-grooved ebonite feeder and a threaded piston mechanism.

Sorry for hand-held macro pictures.....

This one today with the beautiful new Irish Green ink!

For a fine nib this pen lays down a very thick medium line and is a joy to write with!

All the best.

Oh just something I found on the FPN marketplace by a chap called Bryant.

A rather juicy broad nib stubbed by Mike with lovely line variation suitable for signatures or just daily use. Super fast shipping and inked with iroshizuku tsukiyo. I retired my Edison pearl for this (was due for a flush anyhow)

Montblanc 1996 Dumas :)

In Rotation: MB 146 (EF), Noodler's Ahab bumblebee, Edison Pearl (F), Sailor ProGear (N-MF)

In storage: MB 149 (18k EF), TWSBI 540 (B), ST Dupont Olympio XL (EF), MB Dumas (B stub), Waterman Preface (ST), Edison Pearl (0.5mm CI), Noodler's Ahab clear, Pilot VP (M), Danitrio Densho (F), Aurora Optima (F), Lamy 2000 (F), Visconti Homo Sapiens (stub)

This one again today.

http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm225/ianmedium/mb1.jpg

I changed the ink last night to Mont Blanc black but within a few lines changed it again to the New Irish Green, what a lovely colour that is. It may not be good etiquette to use a coloured ink (according to debrette's) but what the heck, it is my journal and my thoughts and green is my favorite colour!

All the best.
