Great photo! That 149 should do amazing things with the Herbin ink!!! Are you fan of finer nibs or broad nibs?

The 146 looks very nice in platinum trim. Using mine with a medium nib and Waterman BB.

Nothing new here ... the ink capacity means it goes on for ages without a refill

Still the MB 149 (EF) with 18k nib and Iroshizuku ku-jaku. A fantastic pairing.

Hey Tanalasta, no problems with the ink and the MB? Ku-Jaku it's supposed to be a really saturated ink... but a really nice one :puddle:

Took a little effort to flush it out from my MB 146 but then I went on to fill and use tsuki-yo before having to flush it and rotated the pen 'out'.

I don't think I've read any reports on clogging or issues with the Iroshizuku blue inks other than their cost. Mind you, I use my pens regularly and those that are in use usually get a colour change or flush quite often. Especially as I like to rotate my pens ad hoc.

But I haven't noticed any staining of the ink windows or flow issues. Iroshizuku is very well behaved and the ku-jaku and tsuki-yo paired up quite nicely with the MB 149 and 146.

I buy mine from Taizo (Engeika on eBay) although he no longer lists Iroshizuku ink seperately.

However, plenty of other places have been suggested on FPN (Jetpens, nibs.com etc...)

Comparisons to Ku Jaku I've heard of are DIamine steel blue (easier to get) and Noodler's Coral Sea (only easy for me in Australia!)

Last night I pulled out my Ruby Boheme (fine nib), put a MB Royal Blue cartridge in, and have been using it for most of the evening. This is one of my pens that I always seem to overlook, and which occasionally jumps out at me. I seem to constantly need to be reminded what a good writer it is. A good little travel pen.

"Here was a man who had said, with his wan smile, that once he realized that he would never be a protagonist, he decided to become, instead, an intelligent spectator, for there was no point in writing without serious motivation." - Casaubon referring to Belbo, Foucault's Pendulum.

I just bought my first MB -- the 147 with an F nib. I love it and have been using it every day. I heard it is no longer being made -- is this true?
