The pen and handwriting sample look terrific in the image.

When such a quality photo is uploaded, it brightens the thread.

Thank you.

The Montblanc Midnight Blue shows shading in an F nib. Nice!

Thanks Tom! I love the way Montblanc nibs write. So much character they have, even a simple Fine nib.

My little drama queen...

Ok, I'm curious now, why drama queen? :)

Love the Boheme series, which model/version is this specifically?

LOL! It had to do with the FPN Facebook page. There were some people complaining that there was too much drama going on and that the mods needed to reign things in. So I posted the pic and called it my drama queen.

It a Platinum Dou'e...the retractable nib is a bit dramatic. :)

Disclaimer: I havent used either one yet. Guess I shouldve posted this elsewhere.

Montblanc 22s (fine and medium). The F nib version had a piston issue and I ended up breaking the spindle so Im thinking I can just make it a makeshift eye dropper version.

Great pair, Warhammer57, I'll bet they're great workhorses.

ED could be a way forward, but I think I'd be scouring ads/llstings for a parts pen and get it back up and running?

Can you distinguish which is which, by sight alone? Or is it a case of uncapping and trying out?

Thanks! I havent actually used either one of the yet. I have a 146 but I was intrigued by the classic look of the 22. I originally bought the Fine model but it was missing parts and then I snapped the screw in it trying to work the piston. I then purchased a Medium model, however, I bought a replacement section ring and knob/screw assembly for the Fine model while I was waiting for the Medium to arrive. I received the replacement parts and swiftly snapped the end of the screw off in the piston. Sigh. It likely needs the help of a professional but Im mad it right now, lol. Any suggestions for a professional fixer?

I can tell by sight which one is which. The Fine nib model looks older than the Medium model. However, the Medium appears to be in really good shape has so it looks . I ordered an unltrasonic cleaner yesterday so Im going to give them both a bath and tinker with them some more.

I just decided to change the inks up a bit.

Old:

146 OM ultrablack - permanent blue

Exupéry M - UNICEF blue

New:

146 OM ultrablack - UNICEF blue

Exupéry M - Exupéry ink

I love the UNICEF blue, but my Exupéry writes wet on the cheaper paper I use at work so I swapped it.

Please post a writing sample... I have an OM I love but I think OF would be ideal... I've yet to see a MB sample though!

~ I'm using a platinum Mozart EF with superb feedback. It's one of those pens which is a joy to use anytime.

The comment by RoSpectre more than half a year ago haunts me as I too seek images of Montblanc OF handwriting samples.

1979 MB 149 with semi flex nib

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time
