The wider the nib point is, the shorter the tines are.

 

Everything having the qualities and defects of its defects and qualities, the narrower the nib point is, the longer the tines are.

 

I always choose elegance, of the nib design as for the writing itself.

Weekend getaway to Napa Valley for wine tasting and cheese. Flew with my 147 Gold medium nib refilled cartridge with Sailor Shigure, StarWalker Cool Blue medium/fine with Iroshizuku Asa-gao, and a plain black Pilot Metropolitan medium with Sailor Shigure.

I am daily carrying a few montblanc pens...

-146 yellow gold with a Medium Cursive italic (Nibsmith)

-146 platinum with a medium cursive italic and added flex (Mike Masuyama)

-146 90th rose gold with a medium nib (factory)

-Twain edition with a medium Stub (Nibsmith)

-149 with a fine/medium 14c (semi flex?) nib

Not really "using today" but an import pen for me.

 

Bought this Montblanc Meisterstück 146 in 1988 to sign my first employment contract after finishing university :rolleyes: .

This 146 was in use for several years and took me back to my interest for fountain pens.

 

 

Beautiful pen, what a wonderful way to start a new job. Thanks for sharing.

these two, on this trip to jakarta--my workhorse agatha christie, and a 100th anniversary historical rollerball that i use for filling out immigration and customs forms.
