Using a new (to me) No 12 with a firm but lovely Broad nib, and my Boheme XL with Medium nib just back from Level 1 service to adjust the flow.

That's the way to do it!

 

I love an italic. I find the standard range of Montblanc nibs come out too broad for me once line variation is pronounced enough.

 

I couldn't find a nib grinder on my continent, so I did it myself: Heritage 1912 like you, with a fine nib >> fine italic.

 

Luckily it turned out well.

 

I'm trying to resist another pen, but hanging around here is reducing my will power.

Below are a modern pen (post 1996) with an 18K BB ground by Pendleton Brown, a late 1970s to early 1980s pen with a 14C B nib, and a late 1960s to early 1970s 18C 3B.

Mosey on over to the stub of the day thread to see my new Omas paragon BBB. Talk about a ridiculous amount of tipping material. It writes a line a lot like the 149 3B.

Good to know as I've definitely experienced one of those and they're awesome. Just not as fond of the Paragon length as it runs short for me.

The 18C 3B was a very lucky eBay find. I have been looking for one for a long while that was stickered or had some proof it was a 3B and not just a BB.

 

The 14C B I got from Tom @ penboard.DE and had him put a MOP derby on the pen.

 

The 18K BB, or maybe just a wide B, from another pen enthusiast who is winnowing his collection. I wanted to have the pen because the nib has a BLS grind on it and people are always saying such nice things about Pendleton's grinds. Ot is ery smooth and wet and writes well on the reverse of the nib also.

As i have temporarily decommissioned my 146 i have re incorporated my 1970s 149 with the soft fine/medium 14C nib. With Montblanc you never know the nib size.
