Thank you!

It is a medium nib but not like the medium on my 149 which is more like a broad. This one writes more like a true medium. Very smooth and nice and wet, a real joy to write with!

Thank you! Good to know... I hope one day I can afford to buy one Hitchcock! :notworthy1:

I hope you do as well, it is a lovely pen. Each day I find something new to see with it and the nib is perfectioncloud9.gif

All the best.

Hi Ian,

I got to look and examine one in HK last month. What are they like to actually use? I just felt the finish wasn't as classy as other MB LEs (and its not a cheap pen). I loved the clip but does it work from a practical point of view? I'd value your experience as I went in with the intention to buy but it just didn't get me over the line.

Regards,

Simon

today i'm writing with a meisterstuck RB with a -get this- Pentel Energel 0.5 refill. yes. just added a small cap (the ones that come in regular RB's) to the back end of the refill and half a spring - what comes in regular click BP's. that goes in first inside the barrel to push the refill cartridge and keep it in place.

voila! MB RB with gel ink.

Finally gave the Collodi a good flush and put it away in the cupboard. Wonder how long I'll be able to do without it. Now using a medium 149 from the late 80s, a broad 2002 Fitzgerald (both with Waterman Florida Blue) and, strictly at home, a somewhat flexible extra-fine 244G from the late 50s with MB Black.

I think the 149 has been in rotation since December 2011. It is a large and very practical pen, holds a lot of ink, and has a solid nib that works well on a variety of paper. Perhaps not as 'expressive' as my other pens, but a really good daily writer.

La Boheme Blu rollerball for work. I would like to find a black/gold Boheme citrene vanishing point (is that what they are called?) or a vintage MB, though I am not sure which one to start with....... :)

MB 146 EF and F.

New pens which I had kept for sale for a long time but was reluctant to let go, and for one reason or the other would not post them for sale. I like Broad nibs and stubs. Finally I decvided what the heck, I should have variety and inked them up with Quink black for a test drive. I wrote with a fine nib after a long time and surprisingly did not hate the experience, as I had expected. In fact my writing, large enogh to accommodate BB nibs, look OK with the EF and F too. There is a very small but definite line width difference between the two and the F is wetter than the EF. The F is almost as wide as many of my other M nibs, and wetter than most. Just a hint of 'give' in both pens enough to give me a feel of the paper but no discenible flex in either.

Needless to say the pens write very well and smoot, although the EF had a slight tooth to it but a little brown paper bag trick took care of it. Both are wet writers and cross words are much easier with them. I suspect they will be in regular use from now on, though maybe not as much as my OBB and BB and stub nibbed pens.

Enjoy your pens

Have a nice day

Well, despite not having a camera to call my own, I am going to attempt my first ever picture here on FPN using my mobile phone. Here goes: (fingers crossed!)

Super. Today I have dipped into my collection and am using, for the first time, a wonderful 1950s MB 246G. The nib is a broad, laying down a super confident wet line, giving my letters real character. As I am using it at work, I am typically carrying MB's Mystery Black (favourite ink for work). I have enjoyed the experience of writing with this nib so much that it is very possibly my favourite nib to-date.

My 246 is partnered by my trusty 149.

Better pictures hoped for in future.
