Whats your current most used pen

I usually have a Decimo/Sesenta in rotation; the retractable feature makes it such a handy carry-around. For the last several weeks though, I've had celluloid Waterman Hundred Year Pen (transparent red/burgundy) in rotation much longer than usual; I've been topping off the ink over and over again. The pen was a gift, and I love everything about the pen.

The pens I seem to be using the most lately are my Namiki VP and Estie J Transitional w/#9460 (medium manifold) nib.

Going to go out on a limb with a cheapie: Pilot 78G. I'm sorry, they are hard to destroy even with the roughest handling and they write great. I keep the "classier" pens back at home

My Lamy Vista is a daily favourite. It has the smoothest M nib ever and is currently filled with Manufactum's coffee ink. I have a feeling that my new favourite as of tomorrow will be the Waterman Audace I am getting from my husband for our second wedding anniversary tomorrow. It has an F nib (I'm branchin' out) and is so cute that I am already smitten with it in advance of actually using it.

17-18 years ago, my then (now ex) husband bought me a lovely pen, but I wasn't into fountain pens and I put it away...only in the last few years have I become a fountain pen enthusiast, and I'm mostly into Pelikans. But last week I pulled out that long-ago gift...and realized it's a Parker Duofold. I feel a little silly because I've often wondered what Parker Duofolds are like, and here one was under my own roof and I didn't know.

So I inked it with PR Chocolat, and it's been a dream to write with. A beautiful pen. I really must call my ex-husband and thank him :)

Right these days, Pelikan L5, B nib. Very smooth, also it is usually not my favorite writer (for long jobs, I love Pelkan 400NN F nib and Waterman Harley Davideson, the old one, M nib). I like the pen itself, really underestimated IMHO, and the fact that it writes very well upside down and then provide a decent fine line. And of course the ink capacity...

Custom painted Pilot VP with a broad stub loaded with Namiki blue carts. It's just convenient.

A very close second is a 51 Special that has been through hell and has the scars to prove it. The nib on that one is just too good to pass up.

  • 1 month later...

The XF Lamy Safari is all I have right now(tight on cash :P) But my birthday is coming up, so I will be saving my money on either a Parker 51 or Lamy 2000. I'm still currently in the process of debating which one I should get. Although I'm doing pretty good with my safari.

My 1984 MB 146 takes the cake, but I'm anxiously awaiting a Lamy 2000 in the mail which may steal the crown (or steal the cake for the sake of consistency).
