Hunting for old FPs in Kolkata, India - ramblings

In Kolkata yo will get Artex, Bikash, Flora, Pierre Cardin, Reynolds, Cello, Flair and Camlin everywhere apart from Parkers.

 

If you tell me which area you reide in, maybe can direct you to a store.

I can't afford expensive pens or antique piece.

I just want to start with inexpensive one like Artex 1120.

Though I don't know even Artex 1120 is good one at that range or no.

I only saw two models,Camlin Trinity & Elegent at a shop and they were sold at MRP.

But no sign of old models like camlin Cute,4E etc.

 

I'm also looking for ink(turquoise blue,green,orange,violate).

Only found Camlin Blue and black ink.

Did not find Sulekha,Chelpark or Brill,

 

I most of the time pass through Shyambazar and Dumdum.

Know little about area near Tollygunge to Garia(N S C Bose Road).

Sometime go to College St but no idea about Barabazzar,it's very congested and overcrowded area.

artex is an inexpensive pen but a great performer Try Kalpana Stationary near tollygunge police station. Its a 40+ year shop. Try Sulekha ink showroom near jadavpur bus stand/university for inks. Lots of shop in Gariahat area

Tollygunge PS near Rashbehari crossing not the Phari?

I think Suleka can be easy to find but Gariahat area is a huge place.

If u don't would u like to suggest few inexpensive but good FPs for me ?

Sure....But please let me know your budget....Indian pens are available from Rs.10/- to Rs.10000/-

But,good news is a new Sulekha showroom going to build up at that place.

I have to wait a month and have to visit Jadavpur again.

In Jinhao I would recommend Jinhao 159, X450, X750 and 155. Some new models like T1 and 599 are good pens. I have reviewed a pen Jinhao T! here

 

Also, Baoer pens are good some models like Baoer 8 horses, 388, 700 and 801 are great pens

 

In Indian pens Wality pens does offer excellent value. You can try the Wality 71, 64, 67, 70AM, 70, 69TS, 58SL, all within your budget

 

Also, try Oliver Pens from Chennai, some models like Oliver Nirvana, Tulip, Exam, Karma, 81, offer excellent value

 

Most Artex pens are available within Rs.30/- each

 

Other good Indian brands are Fellowship, Serwex, Doctor, Gama, Deccan pens

Jinhao, hero, baoer pens are available at park street foot path in front of oxford shop. I am a regular customer there for last 5 yrs....he has a rich collection within budget (dont forget to bargain)....

Hmm, After last December, I am again visiting Kolkata later this month.

Will give Esplanade and Sealdah (tips hat to Soumitra ) pen hospitals a visit (Guys, please save a few Sheaffer's for me, want to treat myself for my B'day...Begging ya..)

Is Sulekha functional now ? Where can I pick up Sulekha inks ? (any Mint/NOS ink tablet available anywhere ? )
