Wow, QM2 & MDI, thank you for doing this! Even though I have some OMB on the way (and have bottles of at least 4 of the other blacks shown here), I'm thrilled to see it in the line-up with all these others.

Appreciating nuances of black is outstanding.

Thanks for the kitteH : ) We love them (just look at MDI's profile).

You can see close-ups of all the black inks lined up in order from darkest to lightest here:

Thanks, I saw that, it's great. I really like your groupings by color family, too. Excellent work.

Thanks for adding that OMB. Since you are an expert in blacks now, any comments on using OMB vs. others that people think are blacker? Great resource!

With the new FPN rules, now I REALLY don't know what to put in my signature.

No colour casts in Noodler's OMB.

MDI, thank you. The OMB is a very attractive black, on my computer screen. I've made a note of it.

May you have pens you enjoy, with plenty of paper and ink. :)

Please use only my FPN name "Gran" in your posts. Thanks very much!

any comments on using OMB vs. others

The sample of OMB which I received from ethernautrix is a very black ink with no colour casts. It's right up there (in terms of blackness) with Higgins calligraphy ink in our colour sample page.

I believe it is a truer black than even the other Noodler's (with a possible exception of HoD). Unfortunately, I cannot speak to how that translates into various fountain pens. It may or may not be the darkest in a particular pen due to its intrinsic feed/nib/flow characteristics. I also think that everyone who desires to use a solid black should at least try Aurora Black.
