Aurora 88 repairs

Hi Igor, Welcome to FPN!

The section (the part that holds the nib) and the piston knob are made of hard rubber (also called ebonite), which discolors over time. There are many articles here on FPN on how to restore the color on hard rubber. For these pens, I would either leave them as are, if the discoloring isn't too bad, or I would polish them with mirco mesh or micro gloss (a liquid abrasive). You need to be carefull though, as these can also remove the inscriptions on the section. Before polishing, I recommend removing the parts that need polishing so that you don't damage other parts.

Oh thank you for comment, i have not seen it till  now.  I have  few  pens i wanted to give as an gift thats why, the  discoloured  ebonite  looks and as well smells  a bit bad.  I will be careful  withe the section  in particular.  Sure will restore the white of  letters there with paint. ( probably  enamel or acryl) Such a great pen that aurora 88 , Have a few and all ,regardless state , are fantastic.
