I wouldn't say that today's Pelikans look identical to their vintage counterparts. The vintage 400 lacks fore & aft Blingrings, and has only one on the cap. The nibs aren't as foofy, either.

Other than the extra gold plated rings, the rest of the design is identical. The nibs today are slightly more decorated too, but all of that is small cosmetic changes that have come about after many years (not uncommon in any pen that is produced for so long). The overall design of the M400 today remains true to the original 400, down to the piston filler mechanism and interchangeable nibs, ink window, materials, build quality, ect.

Ball-point pens are only good for filling out forms on a plane.

The Bexley 56, Simplicity and Deluxe models are great. Those classic shapes will never go out of style.

Okay, here is one more image: Yard-o-Led Viceroy Voctorian pen and Perfecta pencil

The exquisite new Kaweco DIA, back to the Kaweco Vintage era, designed for today’s user and today’s materials.

There is no difference in the stripe pattern?
