Pelikan M1000 Barrel issue

hi all,

I had got a new Pelican m1000 from Germany...it came through courier. recently I noticed 3 very small (inline) material pressed marks on the end of the barrel (at the edge of the piston mechanism).....I am confident this is not normal....the marks are not obvious to the naked eye....u can only notice them when u look at the point in certain angles against the light....

please advice.....

PS. I don’t think replacement from German would be an option...as it has been a while since they shipped it and besides it in nothing very apparent...However, for me (spending $300) it is a question of a flaw in the finish...

Image attached to show the area of trouble....

Were the marks there when the pen arrived?

If dropped, chewed on, scratched, etc., it's quite normal for pens to show such marks. If it was there originally, it's a warranty issue (or shipping issue, if the package was opened/damaged).

the marks were at the point of arrival...but i only noticed it a couple of days back.....I had received the pen some months back and had not reviewed it at that time...do you think I could make use of the 3 year warranty...i am not sure if they will ask for the shipping cost or may blame it on me.....

If you're going to make use of the warranty, sooner is better than later. I THINK I heard rumblings about Pelikan changing its warranty rules to exclude the Malaysian sellers, which might mean that they'll change what they cover under warranty, even though you purchased from germany (?).

I'm not sure though, so you might want to search the board for the new revision of the warranty.

I'll take an Aurora, please. Aurora black.
