Noodler's Saguaro Wine

Hey y'all,

I decided to try my hand at a review. I did not have a scanner available so I took photos. The colour is pretty faithful to what I see in real life although the paper has a faint pink cast in the pictures. Also, please forgive the eyesore of a water stain on the upper left.

As much as it bothers me, I may end up replacing the image when I have a moment to redo the review. Let me know if I left anything out of the review.

Thanks.

Ink: Noodler's Saguaro Wine

Pen: Waterman Carene Cursive Italic.

Shading: This ink has virtually no shading

Flow: It flows very well. I have not had much nib creep with this ink.

Drying: It dries in a reasonable amount of time (IMO) - under 5 seconds

ETA: The image isn't showing up properly. I was going to take it down but I'll probably just try to do a scan at work.

Thank you for the review. The color is pretty true on my monitor. This is one of my favorite colors and I just finished addressing my Christmas cards using it.

I tried this ink after seeing it mixed with Noodler's Navajo Turquoise on the Turqouise review thread. Lovely color. I did, though, find it did shade slightly. Sold it and another bottle for a Parker pen. Sort of sorry I got rid of it now. O well. It is a fabulous color for those who don't need "serious" ink for legal or other serious purposes.

just thinking: I'm using Caran d'Ache Caribbean Blue which has fantastic shading. Wondering what would happen if I mixed a little Seguaro Wine with it--wondering if I'd get some interesting purple with shading??? Might have to try it

Ok so I'm looking at this on my work computer and it looks fine so I'll pass on the scan. Although I forgot the swab test. So I can add that as a small image.

I had such a blast addressing my Christmas cards with this ink yesterday. It gave me a chance to practice my penmanship (which may be a different thread soon).

I found that it shaded on some of my Christmas cards but it was not very noticeable. I mixed this with a bit of Waterman Blue and got a very nice Purple. Still no shading. I don't have any inks that shade:( Apache Sunset calls to me.

This is one of my favorite colors too -- I'm on my second bottle of it. You have lovely handwriting sunnyone.
Thanks jbb :) I'm still working on improving it.

you have very beautiful writing. I have an ugly writing but it takes much less ink lol.

Sunnyone: I find Apache Sunset shades even in an XF Cross point. Not much, mind you, but still noticeable on even a downstroke like "l" or "t". And just enough brown/red tones to keep it from screaming ORANGE

Thanks Pepin. Unfortunately the type of work I do does not require much writing but I try to do some everyday. Some of my co-workers have actually expressed surprise at the fact that I use pen& paper.

tnMike, I've looked at reviews of Apache Sunset and it looks beautiful. I'd like to sample it for occasional use. I would love to find a colour similar to Saguaro that has great shading.
