Pilot/Namiki USA service

Lloyd

Recommended Posts

FYI: Pilot/Namiki USA service has moved from Connecticut to Florida. Jeanette is retiring (good for her, bad for us) and "the new guy" is Glenn. He can be reached at 904-645-9999 ext. 1023.

The con-70 converter in my 743 was slowly seeping. Glenn has sent me, not one, but two replacements (at no charge!!). One is chrome at the ends and one is black at the ends. :bunny01:

I'm glad to hear that Glenn took care of you quite well, Lloyd. That's encouraging. But how sad about the CT service center relocation and Jeanette leaving--she's been such a valuable resource in Pilot/Namiki servicing. :(

The transaction is in progress. When I called the CT site, I spoke with Jeanette who filled me in. As she pointed out, the website says the service center is in FL and she said they were in the process of training in FL. I told her how she'd be missed and wished her well.

At the moment, the (203)381-4770 number is still active in CT. The contact there is Melissa. She told me Jeanette retired a couple of months ago, so indeed she's gone. Melissa will be joining the team in Florida, along with Glenn.

From what I remember in an earlier thread, Jeanette was very resourceful and helped an FPN member get their faceted capless repaired. When I chatted with Melissa, she seemed fairly certain that they don't have any faceted pen parts any longer. But... who knows, maybe Glenn might be more resourceful and track some down in case anybody has future issues.

Hi Folks,

I contacted Pilot and hopefully, both you guys are going to be right. Recently, I posted about my sick Capless with a crack near the lip on my cap. It's the old faceted Capless, which I think is a great design and not as large as the newer rounder ones. The nice thing about the newer VP/Capless fountain pens are the sections screw in using metal connections instead of metal to plastic, as with the older ones. Seems to make sense that Pilot wanted to improve the pen when they redesigned it, so this was one of the first things they decided to do.

Pilot needs to be more involved with American sales. I love that company and every Pilot I've owned has been arguably some of the best pens made by any Asian pen manufacturer.

Let's hope for the best.

Hey guys,

I got some news for you!

While they couldn't fix my old faceted black Capless, they replaced the pen with a Blue Carbonesque! They sent me my original shipping tube I sent the pen in, and they also gave me a new box and a cartridge. No charge, either.

Now, that's a neat deal, huh?

Let everyone know if there's any problems on their pens that they can send it to Pilot.

Here is their new address:

Pilot Pen Company

Namiki Repair Service

3855 Regent Boulevard

Jacksonville, Florida

You can also contact Melissa Hugger @ Pilot. Her e-mail is mhugger@pilotpen.com.

Hope that helps.

Very glad to hear they made good on setting you straight, Shamouti. But one question lingers in my mind... did they keep the faceted pen, or did they send it back to you as well? :hmm1:

Well, I asked them about my faceted pen. Pilot told me they didn't have any faceted parts available in the States nor did they have any in Japan. But if it was up to me, I'd find those parts and buy the whole lot!

Of course, it helps if you know someone on the inside...

Glad to hear Pilot is maintaining their level of excellent customer service. I bought a matte black VP 3 years ago. After only four months of daily use the finish started wearing off. Contacted Pilot; they asked me to send it in so they could inspect it. They sent an entirely new pen (except for the nib unit).

I love Pilot pens. I have several - a 15 yr old Ecrino ( bought new on sale ) which works beautifully, 2 VPs, 1 fine & 1 medium, & a Custom 74. I'm planning to get a Custom 823 this year.

I have received answer from namiki.com.

They do not take care for NAMIKI pens from other countries except from USA.

So, maybe some have emails for consumer service at Japan ?

It is very funny story (((
