SOLD! Thanks!!

Oh, sometimes this consignment stuff is hard- selling (and not just buying) things like this, for example. Oh, so pretty...

But first, the Fine Print:

(First "I want" e-mail takes the item. Paypal (either flavor), domestic money orders happily spent; no checks unless we've danced before, please. Domestic Priority Mail shipping included in the price; happy to ship internationally, but the price will be higher- please ask. It's past midnight here on the Left Coast- Andy's not only telling people not to look at his sales post, but he's also referring to himself in the third person, which means it's time for him to be in bed. He will answer all inquiries in the morning. :) )

What have we got here?

Be still, my heart. Pretty, pretty pen. New In Box, uninked, merely gazed on reverentially. The Aurora Mare LE- yummy.

Piston filler- even comes with its own still-firmly-sealed bottle of ink (as well as the booklet, black velvet box, & outer sleeve). Nib is a smooth 18k Medium.

This is probably my favorite modern Aurora (though the original Sole was pretty cool, too)- take it (Take it!!) for $375 SOLD!, shipped!

Gimme a holler!

Andy

Hi Andy,

I'm interested in this pen, but am not sure if it's the blue auroloide or the Mare? Could you please confirm?

Thank you!

Regards,

Soki

It's definitely a Mare. You can tell by the seahorse on the clip. The Blue auroroloid is darker.

Thanks, Deirdre! I knew I could count on you :) The colour is a tad dark for the Mare (on my computer), but I realised that it was the Mare when I saw the seahorse.

Soki

The older I get, the more a neophyte I find myself to be. My appologies, but what makes a "Mare" different from "Auroroloid"? Thx.

Yes the LEs have 'stuff' on the clip as well as enamel/painted bands on the cap.

Aurora has a series of limited edition pens, Sole (yellow) , primavera (green), Mare (blue) that I think are of a higher quality than the standard line of pens.

Acutally, the Mare and the blue auroroloid are both auroroloid, they're just different shades. The Mare shade in particular is difficult to capture. It always seems to come out dark or light or purple or green.

This is somewhat closer, but it's still off:

It's not that bright, it's a little less purple, and it's a little lighter. It's pretty close to a true cyan (which is why Ottoman Azure is such a wonderful color ink for it).
