Plain ivory crane and co

Would like

Tomoe river ivory

Crown paper mill

Any paper you feel responds well to broad juicy nibs !

In Ireland at the moment so EU traders would be preferable, but will do USA too. Doesn't have to be a 1 for 1 trade, I've paper I'll never finish and its best to spread the love around. Tomoe river, as I'm considering buying a journal, would be my priority (love rhodia but getting bored of it

I have:

G Lalo Verge de France extra white sheets A4 and A5. I know, I have so much to offer

I'd like:

OCM 100% cotton sheets.

PM me please!

I'm really keen to try the OCM 100% cotton so would love to find a way to get my paws on a single sheet, that's all it will take! Then I can decide whether or not to go the extra mile and order the Amalfi paper I recently admired. If the OCM appeals to me then it's senseless to ship all the way from Italy.

I realize this is a long shot but I have no good papers whatsoever. My best paper is a laser copy paper which actually seems pretty nice.

However I have been wanting to branch out into the finer papers life has to offer. But being that I do not have any to exchange I am wondering if there is anyone with a wide selection willing to part with a sheet or two from their selection of papers so that I may test them out with my various inks and pens. I would be willing to perhaps pay a fair amount to cover shipping and such if necessary.

If anyone is open to this it may be better to send me a private message than for me to find the post again.

I'm also like Ray, I would like a few samples and would be glad to reimburse for postage if you have a few sheets to spare.

Back "in the day", the large international firm that I worked for had its own watermarked stationery. I never knew who made the paper or its composition, but it was really good writing paper, and many of us used fps. I wish I had hid a few sheets of the stationery away. The firm also had something I have never been able to find, and that was a foldable "corner", for stapling multiple sheets together. The "corners" looked embossed.

Thanks,

Sempra

I Have:

- Leuchtturm 1917 Master Lined

I Want:

- Black n Red Casebound A4 Narrow Ruled notebook

That particular Black n Red notebook is not available anywhere in the US, it's driving me crazy! They have the wide-ruled one everywhere, but I can't get the narrow ruled one and if I try to buy it on amazon.co.uk or similar sites the shipping triples the price of the notebook. The Leuchtturm master is the only notebook I have that I can trade, but honestly I would be willing to buy any similarly priced notebook for you if you could get me that Black n Red notebook.

I hope that this is the right place for this:

I have some Crane's Crest paper sized for Tom Bihn Field Journal Notebooks that I no longer want. It's suitable for fountain pens, but I just do not like this paper, and I want to send it to someone who will love it. I know that there are lots of Crane's fans here. I do not need any more paper of any kind, but I'd be interested in trading this whole lot - one unopened package plus 45 loose sheets - for the equivalent in bottled ink (almost any color except blue). PM me if interested.

Hello all,

Being relatively new to the forum, and new to "gourmet" paper, I see all over the place names such as G.Lalo, Apica, Behance

Crane, Clairefontaine, Nava Notes, Tomoe River, Black n' Red, Onion Skin, etc.

My question is, where do you even go to find these papers? I would love to visit a store that specialized in things like this. You r help will be appreciated.

Cheers

I've never heard of Rhodia or Clairefontaine being available in reams. And I can't imagine that ANYONE would trade you Tomoe River for cotton rag paper, at least not on a 1:1 basis. I don't think you're going to find what you're looking for that way.

I live in the middle of nowhere so all my paper resources are online. I suspect that a majority of folks go the online route since you're not going to find a brick and mortar fountain pen store in most cities. Obviously, big enough cities do have stores and you can see some of the items mentioned there. Tomoe River is likely going to be an online only resource. Onion skin as well. Black n' Red is a cheap but good option, see Amazon.com. G. Lalo, Apica, Crane, Clairefontaine can be bought at GouletPens.com and similar dealers. Nava Notes and Behance are ones I've never heard of.

Just a newbie myself but trying to contribute and help out.

I have got some clairefontaine 90 gsm and tomoe river paper that I would be willing to swap for any uncoated smooth(ish) paper that you can get in the UK.

Basically I want whatever paper white envelopes are made out of, but in a writing pad.

I don't like Clairefontaine at all. It takes nowhere near enough of the ink to give any colour definition. Tomoe river paper slightly better but not worth the price. Weirdly the most enjoyable paper I have found to write on is white envelopes! They just absorb a lot of the ink and thus the colour saturation is great. White laser paper does a similar thing, but it is rough and the nib feels scratchy on it. But envelopes seem to be smooth. You get zero shading with them but that's fine. Connoisseurs may say they feather but to me they don't to an unattractive degree.

I have been reading this thread to get an idea on what paper to look for this.

As I am new to the FP, ink and paper thing I have no inkling about the different kinds of paper that are FP friendly. I have been writing on anything and everything I could lay my hands on. ie paper

My husband has four days off and we'll go paper, ink an stationery hunting.

So no swapping as I don't have anything to swap.

Stay safe!

Rita
