Stephen King ~ Thoughts on writing a novel with a Waterman Fountain Pen

I liked On Writing quite a bit. I found it refreshing that King kept the book (for the most part) pragmatic and personal. Even his dogma (never use adverbs) was entertaining enough that it crept past my automatic suspicion of rules. To paraphrase Bill Cosby on Fat Albert, you'll have some fun and might learn something before you're through.

Tangential from Dave Sim (who resembles Stephen King little if at all):

I say this in the interest of perhaps helping some future writer who might be reading this: just because everyone you know is addicted to using a computer does not mean that it is the best tool for writing. Computers, by their very nature, are lazy instruments which encourage inattentiveness and a lack of discipline, and are, consequently, destructive of whatever natural writing ability you might possess.
