Nice pix, and a beautiful pen. But worth $900? :yikes: I don't get it. It should be solid gold for that price.

Sure it is $900 in the stores, but you can get it new for less than $400 in the internet.

Is that right? I haven't seen that. Where? I've been searching on eBay to see what they go for--about $800.

Looking at your pics of the pen I need to check mine out as I don't remember the metal bar on the blind end of the body going all the way to the end- I was wondering if the clip was going to damage the surface as it seems to slide on mine??? Wonder if I have a real one or did they change the pen??

Hummm... :hmm1: I've been researching in the net for a while and you're right. There're plenty of Serenites with the metal bar not going all the way to the end and, in a much lesser proportion, being like mine. So yours I guess is authentic and mine... I think so, too. Sounds to me that maybe it's a recent change (probably to avoid scratching). That would explain why most pics in the net are like yours. Or maybe it's what I want to believe :roflmho:

There is a tide in the affairs of men which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune. Omitted, all the voyage of their life is bound in shallows and in miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat, and we must take the current when it serves or lose our ventures.

Well I can see that the clip on mine has scratched the surface so I hate to do it but maybe an email to Waterman to figure out if I can get an exchange to the more robust type of bar.

I know I'm late in all this, but, since I'm new to fountain pens altogether, where in the world can I get the black pen for half the price of what it's going for on the 'Bay?!

Also, since I haven't used a Waterman before, what would be best nib size if I like something between a Lamy XF and Pilot F?

Cheers in advance!
