MY PEN COLLECTION UPDATED

Recommended Posts

Wow, what a collection! Thanks for sharing those great images.

From the pens you show I have the SS 146, the regular 146 and the Kafka :-) and I might be adding the Dickens for Christmas.

But seeing those skeletons side by side is just great.

So, which ones do you like using the best? Do you care about the nib size on those Limited Edition pens?

From those I like the Black Widow the best.

Cheers

Michael

Michael thank you for your comments. I don't use none of them. As MB's slogan says: you don't own a MB pen you keep it for the next generation.

My best pen is MB skeleton 75th anniversary. Then comes the Black Widow even though Pompidou it is a huge pen and live it is very very impressive.

Best regards

gourgeous collection!!!. I see you like mont blanc, eh!...

Thank you for your comments. Indeed I love MB pens. I wish I didn't like them. I spend so much money on them. My wife always complains. I don't know what to do...

Best regards

That is an incredible collection. I am not too fond of transparent pens, but the Black Widow one has won me over! A real work of art. There is also that Garbo on the right, but I've waxed enough about it on previous posts.

Congratulation on this collection.I hope it will grow and become even more spectacular, while steering clear of precious stone tapistries. What do you think about the Octavian? And how about a Mozart artisan edition?

PS I would love to see a close up of the 75th Anniversary skeleton nib.

An absolutely stunning collection, gorgeous. Good thing you don't use the pens, I would never know which to write with. I would sit an drool over them all day.

Best wishes.

Hello RedRob. Thank you for your kind comments. At the present I have available onemagnifying photo of MB skeleton 75th anniversary. The next few days I am going to add more. As far as it concern Octavian is not but choice. Initially I was interested about Mozart but when I saw it live I was disappointed. It is not really big pen. I think in photos is better than in reality.

Best regards

If you are interesting in a Teatro alla Scxala i have already it at disposal.

Bye bye

Thanks for the close-up of the nib. It is a beautiful nib, particularly considering the 149 nib size and proportions. It's also interesting to notice the level of attention to detail in having the nib align with the oval overlay on the cap. Nice job MB.

Thanks also for your comments on the Mozart artisan edition. I haven't seen it in person and as a matter of fact I don't even know where one may behold those artisan pens in person this side of the Atlantic. Interesting that you find it looks better in pictures. Was it only a matter of size or was there something else?

I didn't like Mozart because of its size. This means that you cannot see from the first glance all the details of the pen. It is beautiful pen but if you consider that there are 250 pieces worldwide and the price is above 16000 euros. then you can realize that there are much better alternatives.

Thanks for your comments once again.

I understand you 100% now and as for alternatives, now that's quite a question. Almost fell off my seat here. Well given some thought I'd probably look for one of those early sculpted mother-of-pearl Parkers... and given some more thought I'd likely end up donating it to a museum, because I wouldn't dare write with it.

Gorgeous collection.

Perhaps a custom-built display box would be appropriate so as to properly let their qualities and details shine? If you've any other photos, I would be very interested in viewing them.

It must have taken quite some time to amass...do you purchase most or all of your pens new from a particular vendor?

In the future I am going to order a built display box for my pen collection. I will place it in my office. I have bought most of my pens from other collectors. As far as it concern more photos I will need your email so as to send them to you. I don't have enough space so as to upload more photos...
