A month ago, I bought my first FP, a FC Loom. I tried both at the store and figured I start this hobby with the Loom. Plus the the e-motion was more than 3X the price, though I loved the feel and weight of it. Then Tripidi had that huge FC sale so i figured what the heck. Also ordered an Ambition for the missus as well and she is extremely happy with it.

Over the past month I got used to the Loom and the Loom got used to me. It is wetter even though both have a Fine nib. The new e-motion reminds me what treat these pens are out the gate.

The Loom is my workhorse pen that I use at work and what not. The e-motion I keep for my daily log.

I actually prefer it un-posted. Though the cap has an excellent posting fit, it is heavy and it changes the balance. Even un-posted it is still long enough for my hand (i am 1.80m tall).

I got it in Pear wood, because that what Tripidi had in stock (and a matching Pear wood ambition). At first I missed the Coconut wood that I tried at the store which looks stunning. But it quickly grew on me. I inked it with Private Reserve chocolate, which works better in it than in the Loom for some reason. something about the color matching to the pearwood just makes the writing experirence very enjoyable.

The nib has a great flow, it is smooth but gives feedback at the same time. Wonderful.

I started with a Loom, very pleased, then an Ambition , a very nice FP, and , a few days ago , an e-motion croco in F, and it was always a continous progress in quality and pleasure.

The increase of the weight in the e-motion is for me a very positive point, because I don't have to write for long periods and don't suffer from the increased weight ; and the nib is among the smoothests I have .

Put in confidence with my previous purchases with FC , I decided to jump to a different class of writing instruments, with the purchase of a Graf von Faber Castell (sister company of FC) guilloche coral with a M nib.

While the pen is on the small side and its price rather on the up side, even if the guilloche is among the lowest prices of the brand , the nib goes freely on the page , giving an oustanding feeling of smoothness , while the quality is visible everywhere on the finish of the pen!

Now I have to stop buying , until I get maybe some day my supposed and hypothetic grail pen , a Nakaya Titanium piccolo writer.
