Purple Argentine Parker 51, with the Purple Sheaffer Quink which matches it.

Using my latest acquisition - a Pilot Prera, Ivory, fine point - amazingly smooth, better than 78G, elegant design. Inked with Black Cherry with a touch of Saguaro Wine & Tanzanite... :D

Four pens to try out the ink samples I got from Peartree Pens: Diamine Mediterranean Blue in a Platinum Stainless Armor, Sailor Green in a Pilot 78G, B nib, Diamine Grey in a Lamy Studio Stainless, f nib, and Diamine Dark Brown in my Monteverde burgundy MegaBall roller (for doing puzzles and for writing on Arturo A4 stationery which is the most fountain pen unfriendly paper I have ever used).

Hi Taki!

That ink recipe sounds great - I have all those inks...I think I have every red, pink and purple ink they've made!

I was looking at that Pilot Prera. I was thinking of getting one in either baby blue or coral. Where did you buy it?

Pilot 743 with FA nib. I'm finishing up a load of Pilot Blue-Black and plan to switch to PR Chocolat later today.

Estie J with a mix: Namiki Blue/Levenger Cobalt/Noodlers Black in a 10-10-1 ratio.

1949 Burgundy shelled 'P51' with Noodlers Red-Black.

Welcome to FPN, Erica! I have Vivid Pink (coral?) and Lime Green, and now I have Levenger Pinkly in Lime. Vivid pink is very deep and reddish pink, but no orange cast. It is not "shocking pink" as it appears on some websites. On my monitor the photo on Pilot site looks very close to the actual color. I am thinking about getting Ivory and baby blue ones eventually :) I bought it from a Japanese online store and had it sent to my parents', and when they had something to send to me it took a ride with it. You can get it from Ujuku Shop in Japan or jpens.com. I know the owner of Ujuku and he is very trustworthy. I've never bought from Jpens myself, but haven't heard any complaints so far. I guess if you are buying just one pen jpens is cheaper, but if you want colors they don't have and going to buy more than one Ujuku is not bad. Shipping from Ujuku is probably $12 or so.

Good morning, JD and everyone! It's 56F and high will be in mid 80's. Will be a good day to take my son to the pool :)

I'm not sure if I actually get to use pens today but thinking about filling my Vivid Pink Prera with PR Midnight Blues to carry in my purse.

Also silver/chrome Namiki VP with PR Fiesta Red.

Got to flush out some pens...too may pens inked :P

Good morning Taki & JD!

May I chime in?

Here in upstate New York a cold front is cooling us off after a hot humid day yesterday.

I've got my Sapporo loaded with Brown Skrip today.

Good morning and welcome, artaddict! Sounds like a very nice combo of pen and ink! I am thinking about getting a Sailor when I go back to Japan next time :)

Thanks for the welcoming message, Taki!

I actually use several pens a day, with various inks.

But this is the first time I've put a color in the Sapporo.

This Sapporo & the Pilot Prera are keepers!

Pep, What is the nib size on your Sapporo, and how does it compare to your Prera (IIRC, it's an Ivory F, right?)? Is your Sapporo a full-size one?

Today I am using my Pelikan 140 with Noodler’s Black and for a change in pace I am including my Ivory Waterman Charleston with Noodler’s Fox Red.

I “do” have some fairly modern pens, though to be honest I prefer the older pens more. I like the Fox Red, but it just does not seem to go with most of my older pens, so why not in a new one?

Taki,

I have the regular size Sapporo with fine nib, which seems broader than the Prera F (yup, Ivory), maybe because it's wetter...

Hi all,

Just got a Pilot Prera from Jpens in the mail. Filled it with Rotring Ultramarine Blue, an ink I stocked up just after it went out of production. Jpens had the Prera only in royal blue when I ordered, but now I look at the website and it's available in a couple of other colors, including ivory. May have to buy another… Nice little pen. Jpens was quick. I ordered the pen Sunday, they sent it Monday, and it got here today. Of course, they're in Nashua and I'm in Boston, so it doesn't take long.

Besides the Prera, I'm using my Ban-ei today (filled with PR Tropical Blue) and my trusty vintage Aurora 88 with Aurora Blue. Today is rainy, so I'm tending toward the blues.

Hello all,

Today, I am using a blue Wality #52, medium point, loaded with Noodler's Ottoman Azure. Best $12 I've spent in a while -- $6 for the pen through isellpens.com, and $6 for the ink at Chuck Swisher's table at the Raleigh Pen Show. :D The Wality writes well, the Azure feathers a teensy bit when I take notes, but I think that's probably due to my cheap loose-leaf paper. This thread is fun!

Lisa

PS It's 76 degrees here in Raleigh, a nice change from the 90s of yesterday. It's been raining off and on, no doubt that's cooled things off a little.

Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none.

Sounds like you are having fun! Must need a little adjustment when changing from Prera to Ban-ei :D

I know it takes time, but would you consider posting a writing sample of PR Tropical Blue? I have Diamine Tropical Blue that I love, and really curious about PR version.
