What Pens Are You Using Today?

Oh happy day! Today I inked my brand spanking new Tibaldi Modello 60. Incredible celluloid and a smooooth broad nib makes it an excellent signature pen when filled with that reliable old standby, Waterman's Florida Blue.

The backup in the rotation is my sterling Cross Paul Smith filled with Cross blue. Talk about contrasting appearances!

Can it get any better? Yes. I just got notice from USPS that my Ancora Perla and Cross Signature are on their way back from Pendemonium with their newly ground stub nibs. :cloud9:

Count it a blessing that you're such a failure; your second chance might never have come

Reloaded the Teal Blue Parker 51 Demi EF from Northwest Pen Works with SuperShow Blue (PR) and swapped out the Namiki VP with a Brushed Copper Legacy II stub nib from Jim Gaston with PR Chocolat. Sweet!

Sitting on pins and needles waiting for a 1.1mm Crisp Italic and .9 ItaliFine from Richard Binder to go in my favorite Pels.

Hey does anyone have a half a bottle of Waterman Purple they don't need? I have a half bottle of Florida Blue that really needs to be mixed with some purple to make up a load of Binder Blurple!

I made extensive use of my Montblanc Meisterstuck 145 this evening. I wrote 3.5 pages of fresh story-notes today, and onece again, my Montblanc ran out of ink halfway through!...I think I should get a drop-tube put into that pen to give it a constant supply of ink. This is the second time in a WEEK that that pen has gone from completely full to completely empty in just a couple of hours....

Same as yesterday. I leave my white coat at work and left my pens in the pocket last night. I'm usually really good about putting pens in the case but it was such a hectic day. I'm not really worried about them getting lost but still don't like leaving them :(

I just got an Ohto Tasche, which I was interestd in as a "knockabout pen" like the Kaweco Sport, AL Sport, and Rotring 600. The Tasche is a nice pen for the money, but not "heavy duty" like the AL Sport and the 600. It is strong enough not to break when dropped on a hard surface (nib, excepted, of course), but it isn't Destructo Boy proof. :P It writes fairly well, though the flow is a bit sparse on the rapid strokes, doesn't skip, but thins noticeably. It writes better with a heavy hand, unlike my Hero 616, the flow king, actually a bit scratchier with the same pressure, but writes better, and very smoothly, with light pressure, and no skipping. Ditto w.r.t. my Kaweco Sport. I'm including a writing sample of these and some other pens, as below. The smoothest writers are my Kaweco AL Sport with broad nib and my Sheaffer TM TD Triumph nib Snorkel. Both are marbles on ice, but the Kaweco broad nib is too thick a writer to be useful. So my best and most useful writer of this selection is my Sheaffer Snorkel. But my Hero 616 is my carry signature pen, and my Kaweco Sport is my carry writing pen, both being more expendable. Other pens are in the hunt for "best writer", such as my 51 Flighter, but they are currently uninked to compare. Back to the Ohto Tasche, it's a nice pen, worth the price, but it is a bit too thin in the grip for my liking, the Kaweco Sport has about the right thickness there. But for anyone who feels the Kaweco is too bulky, then the Tasche should be a consideration. JMO, FWIW!!! ;)

Hmmmmmm, interesting writing instrument lying flat on the desk top. Is that perchance a blued and walnut CZ-85 fifteen cartridge fountain pen? Let me guess, you have had no problems with anyone stealing your pens! :roller1: :roller1: :roller1:

What size NIB does your pen have. I have 2 145's, a M and B both need to be refilled after a couple of pages. Very juicy pens. I also have 2 146's with F and EF's and they last much longer without refill although they are plunger pens and hold more ink.

Don't know outside temp, but I'm guessing in 40's. I heard high will be in 80's!! Not that matters when I work.

Same as yesterday, BUT I swapped the nibs in my Orangne Capless and decimo. Orange with Herbin was writing a little dry, and decimo with Arabian Rose was really (almost too) wet. So I switched ink and it seems to work better that way :)

Good morning Taki and all the rest of the early risers.

54F and it is sunny.

Today I am using a TAC II and a Sheaffer school pen. Both have PR Dakota Red in them. A couple folks have been having problems with this ink and I have been experimenting for over a week and I can't get them to fail.
