I have just spent a couple of weeks in hospital after serious abdominal (and abominable) surgery. I took an old reliable UK made Gold capped , Burgandy barreled Parker 51 with a B nib and filled with Quink Blue/Black. A serious pen for a serious situation.

I have attempted to use my Sailor 1911 Full Size with an EF 21kt nib and I find it way too small for me to write with. I really like a medium more or less.

Sailor Professional Gear with Naginata-Togi MF nib.

It just arrived in the mail last night, and I just inked it up an hour ago

with waterman blue/black ink.

No time for cleaning or flushing, so far no skipping at all.

Just smooth as hot butter!

For the last few days I have been using my Lamy Safari LE bright yellow pen with Pelikan royal blue. Going to Scottsdale Pen and probably Penchetta tomorrow to maybe pick up something new... ;)

Today I used a fountain pen for the first time at work... a Pilot Varsity - blue. My daily at home has been a Pilot Metropolitan with boring Pilot carts. I'm too afraid to buy a good pen to use at work, but am happy with the performance of the lowly Varsity!

It is not "lowly" if it serves you well and you like it. Keep up the good work.

Twsbi 540. It holds too much ink, it'll take a while before I'll be able to change pen...
