What Pens Are You Using Today?

Getting back on FPN has inspired me to get some fresh inks and get writing ... I've carried a fountain pen of some sort or another every day since ~1976, but needed a little reminder about why I love them so much. I am pairing down a collection of 1,000+ pens down to a (large) handful. I've been giving a number of them away to budding collectors, others will go over time ...

Here's what I have with me today; a 'vintage' 149 and a GvFC Elemento ... I am in a German mood.

The past couple of days I have used a Parker Frontier Flighter (brushed stainless steel, chrome trim) with a fine nib, and Parker Quink black.

I have just received my Nemosine Singularity Medium nib (with a fine as a spare) and after flushing I have inked up with Diamine Imperial Purple.

Enjoying the writing - a very smooth and stiff large nib. Good reliable feed.

Apart from the stamped names, the nib and feed is VERY similar to the Monteverde Prima and in comparison the pens are virtually the same length, capped and uncapped, although the Nemosine is slightly thinner and is shorter when posted - it is also a much more basic pen and less than half the price.

Today I am using my new pen ... the first "good" pen I've ever bought with my own money :)

Pelikan Souverän M800 with Conway Stewart / Diamine "Tamar" (a royal blue).

Likely to be the pen of the day for many days to come - I love it.

Today I'm toting around a TWSBI Micarta that's fitted with a Noodler's Ahab nib (and a heavily modified feed to keep up with flexing) and a Noodler's Creaper that's an eariler model with a much finer point. Mr. Micarta-Ahab is filled with Noodler's Navajo Turquoise, and the Creaper is filled with the ink it's always filled with, R&K Salix.
