I am currently using too many pens! They are all so fun to use, but I need to write some letters and then clean out a few. iPhone photo.

Today I'm using a no-name lever-fill pen in BCHR with an extra fine flex nib I bought from Greg Minuskin. (Has since been re-dubbed "The Greg Pen") It's become my favorite writer, with its wet noodle of a nib! All I need is better handwriting skills.

It's currently filled with Heart of Darkness that, unfortunately, feathers a bit on the cheap paper of my journal, but does okay on the Rhodia paper I used for my sample.

Note to self: Swap out ink for Noodler's Black.

Just purchased my first FP - Lamy Safari (Blue).

So far, I like it. We only have one store in the area that even sells FPs, so my choice was limited. The nib is a medium, and I think I'd prefer a Fine/Extra Fine. Otherwise, I'm excited about getting into this and going to the Pen Show in Columbus in November.

Since I'm still learning (thanks to this site), I don't want to spend a lot on "online" purchases. I'm going to visit Appointments (in Cincinnati) in the very near future so I can actually try them out first - I HAVE PEN FEVER NOW!!!

Happy Writing!!

The Shaeffer cartridge pen with washable blue Skrip was my first fountain pen in 1960. Wonderful pen.
