I also have a Mont Blanc 310 which has developed a crack from the top of the grip where the nib emerges. The zig-zag cutout has caused a stress crack to appear causing the pen to leak ink. Have you seen this at all on your pen?

Got a lacquered brass Fisher Bullet Space Pen in the mail on Saturday. Broke it in today. A little light and thin for my tastes, but certainly not too bad on either issue. I'm amazed at how short it is when capped.

Addressed envelopes using a Namiki Maple Craft roller ball, with a Pilot G-2 black refill. Everything else (letter writing, journal entries, etc.) was done using my 1950s tortoise Pelikan 400NN, filled with a homebrew golden brown ink mix.
