What Pens Are You Using Today?

This weekend they were:

Waterman W5 with medium nib and Pelikan Royal Blue

Conway Stewart 58 (vintage) with medium and Diamine Prussian Blue

Visconti Van Gogh Midi with Aurora Black

Esterbrook SJ with Waterman Green (for grading papers)

The green will be gone by the end of today, along with my attention span.

In t-shirt pocket, Green Vanishing point with right-foot Mottishaw nib. Platinum blue-black.

In flannel shirt pocket, Dani Raw Ebonite with whatever black Kev put in it when he tweaked the feed in DC (these things *never* run out of ink!)

In 2 pen case,

Visconti Opera in 'creme-de-menthe' with Private Reserve Gray Flannel

Omas Bologna with a turquoise Herbin ink

Two wrongs don't make a right, but three rights make a left.

Nice color choice for the honey! Intriguing contrast.

Today I couldn't put down my new (early xmas present to self) Binder .6mm stub in a cute l'il black Pelikan 200. I have finally found the perfect pen for R&K Alt Bordeaux. This pen might never see another color ink.

All of you who are pondering getting one of Richard's stub nibs--ponder no more. Just do it. It's a dream.

Isn't sanity really a one-trick pony, anyway? I mean, all you get is one trick, rational thinking! But when you're good and crazy . . . ooh hoo hoo hoo! . . . the sky's the limit!

Today I'm using a new Conway Stewart 100 in lapis blue with rhodium trim which came in last week. Richard ground the nib to be cursive italic and oblique. Currently filled with Noodlers blue black. Wonderful pen!

Today I cleaned the Pelikan M1000 and took it out of rotation. I've replaced it an unusual Sheaffer designed to write both up and down on the nib. Medium on one side, xfine on the other. I didn't plan to use this pen, but it arrived in an ebay lot I found there was a cartridget inserted and instead of twisting to open I went the other way and pierced the cartridge. Not one to waste, I'll write it out.

The other pen I'm carrying today is the Pelikan 200, blue demonstrator, Binder stub with a load of Iraqui Indigo.

At the moment, I'm at my desk at work, which means I'm surrounded by a number of my "little friends."

Just now I'm using a Haolilai #305 and what Norman @ HisNIbs.com refers to as a Unfall Old Man. Both working fine, aside from an occasional balk at the icy wind dutifully filtering through the glass wall behind me.

Kind of like the occasional balks I had on the drive to work. This weather...!

Hey, that pen sounds kinda familier - good to hear it's in rotation (or did you get more along the way?)

John

So if you have a lot of ink,

You should get a Yink, I think.

Today I took out my only two Waterman pens. The first is a small BHR pen that I have been unable to ID, the second a blue Edson. Each has a fine nib that writes like a dream, but the writing experience could not be more different. The BHR pen is light and gushes Noodler's Black from a flexible nib. The Edson is of course heavy, a nail, and lays down PR DCSS Blue in the most orderly way.

Since September, when I bought it, I've been using daily my beloved PFM V with black barrel and XF nib; the ink is a personal mix of Sheaffer brown and Lamy red.

Not a FP day today. Using a Mont Blanc 162 rollerball purely because of the two names I have engraved on the cap. Bit of a riddle I know but just replying to the question..

Got the Edson in my pocket just in case though ;)
