What Pens Are You Using Today?

I'm writing my grocery list with my beautiful red Esterbrook J filled with Noodler's Nikita Red. My pen has a medium nib putting down a bold line of ink. Red is not my everyday color. Maybe this ink choice will help me to remember the things i keep forgetting when I go to the store. When I forgot to get bananas my husband was not happy; he's a banana a day man. Maybe i should be using yellow ink but I don't have any.

Surely you will not forget a red banana, Kathleen? :)

Last one used was a blue Nakaya Neo writer, broad cursive italic, inked with Iroshizuku Asa-gao (Morning Glory).

I really like these pens...if king for a day, I'd have one in every color and every nib variation. smile.gif

Since I'm not, I've settled for a smaller subset...but I'm still buying more from JM.

I always get a kick out of these "no affiliation" notations when it's blatantly obvious the poster has absolutely nothing to do with the brand, company, etc. beyond being a customer. It must be a feel-good/feel-important thing. So I'll note up front that nothing I write here on this forum is influenced by any financial-gain motivation.

I'm just getting back to my pens and these three are recently flushed, filled, and being used:

Parker 51 (lovingly restored by Ron) with a very fine nib, Private Reserve Plum

Pilot Prera, medium nib, with Lamy Turquoise

Lamy Safari, 1.1 mm italic nib (which I absolutely love) and some Private Reserve Spearmint

I am currently in posession of some cartridge refilling kits (aka syringes). Why refill cartridges?

1) save money by not buying more cartridges

2) save money by not buying converters

3) cartridges hold more ink! (than converters)

4) use whichever inks you like

If any of you are interested in the wonderful world of refilling your own cartridges (and mixing inks the easy way), check out my post in the marketplace (search for cmaxx).

One of my favourites for letter and postcard writing, as I am off work today:

Pilot Prera in Ivory with a smooth Italic nib swapped over from a Pluminix, filled with Lamy Turqoise
