What Pens Are You Using Today?

I admire you writing your dissertation by hand... personally I needed the power of WordStar 4 (yes the MSDOS version). I still have dreams (nightmares) of the CTRL keys ^K^B :P

Seriously, whilst I love writing with a nice pen I tend to go through so many revisions of any report/document that I need modern technology.

Hi, Guy. I find that writing by hand helps me to focus my writing, and gives me the benefit of a first rewrite as I type up what I've written. I'm a fairly linear writer, which helps. Also, I like the idea of having my dissertation notebooks as future reminders of this time. Of course, I'm only a chapter into things, so a lot can change over the next few months :) But it's worked so far. Best,

David

I'm using a Sheaffer Craftsman lever fill with a #5 feathertouch nib with Nile Ebony Swishmix. I looked at my last 3 posts in this thread and they all say the same pen. It's like writing with a nail but it is smooth and never clogs or skips. It's the one pen I keep going to by default.

Black phileas fine nib with waterman blue. I can always count on this pen.

Eversharp skyline medium nib with pelikan brilliant black.

It's been all bussiness this week trying to finish up final exams and papers for the semester. These last few days have been especially grueling as I was finishing up my fifteen-page Modern Religious Thought take-home exam. So, I needed some all-bussiness sorts of pens, which were:

Namiki VP (of course) with a 0.8mm stub nib and filled with Noodlers Squeteague.

Sheaffer PFM I with a smooth fine nib and filled with Diamine Prussian Blue.

Esterbrook SJ with 2668 nib and filled with Noodlers Black.

These were prefect choices for the finals grind, and now it's all over.......back to my m800 tomorrow :)

I had 3 pens inked up in my briefcase this week.

Hero 100 Flighter

Montblanc Generation

Namiki VP

I am a banker, so I am contantly signing paperwork and taking notes.

I have gotten a lot of compliments on the VP lately. No converts yet, but I am working on it ;)

Friday was a Gold cap "51" with a black barrel filled with Tahitian Pearl and a red (with black) Phileas with Noodler's Red Black.

Gotta match the ink with the pen otherwise chaos ensues!

For work (on really low-grade notebook paper), Yard-o-Led BP with Visconti blue F gel; otherwise, Pelikan Tortoise F with Noodler's Shah's Rose with a bit of Pelikan red, and Cross Century II sterling F with Cross blue-black cartridge.
