Several pens on the go today...

  •
  • Blue Parker Vector (M nib) with Diamine Jane Green ink - this is my "highlighter" because the M nib is too fat for my cramped handwriting
  • Black Hero 616 with Parker Quink blue/black ink
  • Bright blue Hero 001/360* with brown MB cinnamon-scented Season's Greetings ink (I love the smell of this ink!)
  • I was also using my CdA Ecridor Retro (F nib) with Diamine Umber green, until I decided (thanks FPN!) that it really is leaking, and its not just the way that I'm holding it! :)

I spent the day with my new Merlin 33, just arrived from Richard Binder. Filled it with Diamine Majestic Blue and enjoyed doodling with my first flexible nib.

Went to the grocery store with a soft blue Pilot Prera, filled with Noodler's La Reine Mauve. I used it to mark off my grocery list.

I am spending the rest of the day at home, and (so far) have used:

Danitrio Take-nuri, flexible fine nib, Noodler's Forest Green.

Pelikan M805 solid blue, BB nib, R&K Verdigris.

Nakaya Ascending Dragon, flexible medium nib, Noodler's Walnut.

1920s red Parker Duofold Senior, fine italic nib, Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo.

Parker 51 aeromatic (1951) yesterday; Sonnet today - always the Sonnet when I'm wearing a (dung) without pockets as it's clip holds better - NEVER thought I'd say that about a Parker ..

Started with my Cross ATX because it's almost out of ink, and then upgraded (a lot!) to my new Montegrappa NeroUno Linea, which is just lovely, lovely. I've never written with such a smooth and flexible nib before. In fact, I think I'm still adjusting to the Montegrappa flex a bit, but it's fun bunny01.gif

Last night I inked my new Visconti Opera Master with Visconti Sepia.

Also a Classic 626 Sandblast with Parker Navy Blue.

And another Classic 626 Sandblast with Visconti Aqua.

I was amazed how well the Opera Master writes. The Opera Master did the writing I just held it. I couldn't stop using it.

Today I'm using a brand new, just came in the mail, Rotring Surf, yellow with black plastic clip and a M nib. I continue to be "stunned" by the performance of these inexpensive pens manufactured by the large pen makers! I have about $7.50 in this pen, shipping and all. It is probably one of the smoothest writing fountain pens in my stable. It's a cartridge fill, presently fitted with the blue ink cartridge that came with the pen, which is likely Rotring ink. This little FP posts excellently and the balance is great! The nib looks to be well made, is steel and has some really cool looking grafics on it. The nib has a big R engraved on it. This pen dances across the page and just makes me wonder why myself or anyone else would want to spend hundreds of dollars on another fountain pen?? It's all plastic but with proper care,it would likely last a long, long time! If anyone is looking for an efficient fountain pen that will get the job done with no frills, this is the pen! The price is certainly right!
