A fully restored Wearever Special. This little fountain pen is a beautiful multi-colored red and grey flakes. A M nib and filled with Visconti green ink. It's a fairly smooth wirting pen with a tiny bit more ink flow than I like. It also has just a little tooth to it. Overall it's a nice pen but a "cheapie" in it's day. For the price that it likely sold for brand new and for the amount I gave for it, it's a great value!

Lamy Safari Lime - Iroshizuku Syo-ro (got the most use of my pens today)

Sailor Mini in Morita blue - Sailor nano-black cartridge (for signing stuff)

today at work, it was my Cross Townsend inked with a mix of Mont Blanc British Racing Green (primarily) and Noodler's Black. This mix softens the black and gives it a bit of shading that's otherwise missing.

when I got home, waiting for me were my first vintage pens. One is a red Parker 45 and the other an unknown Waterman. Inked up both with Private Reserve Fiesta Red. If I were right-handed or a lefty underwriter (as opposed to a left over-writer), the Parker would lay down a medium line. However, it's more of a fine for me. I quite like the weight and feel of the Parker. The Waterman is a bit small.

A little green Sheaffer Tuck-away. This was my mother's fountain pen. She was given this pen as a gift in the early 1950's. I've had it rebuilt a couple of times since. It is green/gold with a M nib, partially gold. Since I have changed out the barrel twice due to swelling of the plastic, it does not post well. However, it writes a pretty smooth line. It is filled with Pelikan 4001, recommended by my pen repair person. The screw-on cap still works fine and overall, the pen looks really good for it's age! It holds very little ink though, you are luckey to get a good day's worth of ink in it. Not one of my favorites but it has some heirloom value to me and it is something a little different from the everyday fountain pen.

Ah... This afternoon I grabbed my Lamy Safari with the OB nib to address an envelope in thickest black, only to have it skip dry as a bone on the first stroke of the first P. Then like a fool I insisted a little and was rewarded with a graceless BLURG rather than the somewhat contemptuous flourish I required (I was writing to the Prefecture). So now I'm using my venerable CS and the Safari is in Coventry until it learns more seemly behaviour.

When you're good at it, it's really miserable.

Red 1926 Parker Duofold Senior, fine italic nib, Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo.

Nakaya Ascending Dragon, flexible medium nib, Noodler's Walnut.

Pelikan M800 Clear Demonstrator, broad nib, Herbin Lierre Sauvage.

Soft blue Pilot Prera, Noodler's La Reine Mauve, for permanence.

A fully restored Esterbrook, grey with silver trim, 2668 M nib. Lays a good wet line, too thick for me, almost like a marker! Beautiful little pen though, the plastic polished up to almost a new state. This is likely the smoothest nib in my entire collection of fountain pens. Esterbrook had nib making figured out, too bad they went out of business! Mine is a lever fill, seems to hold a lot of ink and no matter how long it has laid dormant, it still starts right back up! It is filled with Authentic Models, turquoise ink. A great little pen for any collection!

Hope to ink a newly purchased Huashilai Executive Marblied. Though I purchased two from eBay I will only be inking one. Looking forward to the first scribe with this beautiful, weighty, stylish scribbling companion.

the moving finger writes and having writ moves on..

Visconti Kakadu, Knights Templar and Opera Master, Jinhao Abalone Shell, Classic 626 SandBlast, Montegrappa Cortina, Monteverde Carbon Fibre and Huashilai Executive Marblied.

A Pelikan 405 rollerball black with chrome trim, an Ohto ceramic refill 0.5 mm with blue-black ink. (I can make this sound almost as interesting as my fountain pens). I can't easily use my fountain pens at work because of the cheap paper they make me write on.

Using a Lamy Vista with XF nib filled with Waterman Violet... this originally dry writer has turned into an excellent flowing everyday pen. The break-in took about 2+ weeks but it was well worth the wait.

Fountainpens...? None!!

They are all being spring cleaned ;)

If I'm lucky the postman will have a little parcel for me today - a Lamy Safari, Orange SE with a fine nib. It is only my second Safari, the first one was the Lime SE with a M nib. I was surprised how buttery smooth it wrote on all kinds of paper surfaces but the M nib is way too broad for me which is why I bought the F nib... with the orange pen attached to it :roflmho:

Apart from inking the new Safari (if it arrives) I will, as usual, fill up my Sailor 1911 with Noodlers Hunter Green.

A grey/red/silver no brand name fountain pen. A steel nib, marked F with what looks to be the Diplomat Pen Co. logo on it. It does say "Made in Germany". The cap click-in is percision and the barrel threads are percisionly made. The chrome trim is highly polished and looks to be of excellent quality. The writability is great, slides across the paper with ease! The nib reads, Iridiam Point Germany. I gave a few bucks for it via internet, I've never seen one advertised before or after that. There are so many nice pens out there right now that have absolutely no brand name whatsoever on them! Makes one wonder why pen makers don't want to sign their work??
