I'm taking my Pilot Parallel pens out to play today. I have two 1.5mm, one with Blue Black and one with Turquoise. I can't wait to experiment with blending the colors. I've got a pad of very smooth paper and a few address labels designed and printed. I think I'll write a few letters over a latte at the local coffee shop.

1950's Sheaffer Tuck-away, cider green, restored filling system, M nib, filled with Hero standard black ink. Great writer!

Well, I recieved a few pens in the mail this weekend and a few from repair and also I work on a few:

Stipula Saturno Olive Woodgrain color W/1.1 Stub Nib

Aurora Optima Burgandy Red W/Broad nib (I worked on this nib for a few hours on Saturday) It was once a toothy nib now it is a smooth Juicy Broad nib!!! Patience and persistance Pays off!!

Lamy 2000 W/Broad Nib Thanks Kurt!! This is a fantastic Pen with a wonderfully smooth nib. Why did I wait so long to buy a Lamy 2000?

Visconti Copernicus Black&Blue celluloid striped W/Medium nib

Stipula Etruria Ocean Blue W/1.3 Stub Nib

TNS

I myself just got my first "whiff" of fountain pen madness and received my first pens in the mail.

Today I was playing with the Hero 100 I just received. It came with a fine NIB and I've been pleasantly surprised by the overall comfort with which I can write. It aint the greatest pen, but its pretty darned good. My one comment would be, much like the Parker 51, I prefer something slightly heavier than the Hero 100, which is relatively lightweight. Otherwise a pleasing experience!

I just inked up my new (just arrived today!) Namiki Falcon with soft medium nib. After flushing the nib and drying it (quickly!), I filled it with Noodler's Tiananmen ink. It is a most interesting experience to write with!

I wrote with three today:

Green Hero 366 with a mix of Diamine blues and greens

Midnight blue Sailor Profit Special Script, and i THINK Skrip Blue-black

Tomato Waterman Carene with a mostly-Waterman-red cart and some drops of J Herbin Cafe des Isles and 'olive green' (who knows what, back when I experimented but didn't write formulas).

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I currently use a Pelikan M200 medium with Noodler's Ottoman Azure Blue for my journals, letters, and documents that require my signature. The non-standard blue is easily recognized and quickly establishes the document as "mine." I use a Lamy Al-Star with Noodler's bulletproof black more than any other pen I own. I work for a large corporation and am forced to print documents on the cheapest copy paper money can buy; the fine tip Lamy does a pretty fair job on the coarse paper. I occasionally use an older Waterman medium tip with Waterman Florida blue when I want to liven up my notes I leave to coworkers.

I do a fair amount of writing, and I almost exclusively write with a fountain pen. However, I enjoy hiking and the outdoors in general. For those times when I'm outdoors, I use a Fisher Space pen with a Rite in the Rain waterproof journal. This combination is in every pack I own.

It's a Pelikan 140 kind of day here at the North Forty Ranch...

We started the day limbering up with one of my favorites, a 140 burgundy filled with Diamine Monaco Red (quite possibly my favorite ink), making some to do lists followed by a marathon journal-writing session at a coffee shop this afternoon.

Now, alas, I am in the middle of some pretty extensive writing and note-taking for work, using the following in ongoing rotation:

140 grey (DF nib) - Iroshizuku Fuyu-syogun

140 black (BB nib) - Aurora Black

140 dark blue (BB nib) - Iroshizuku Asa-gao

140 burgundy (F nib) - Diamine Monaco Red

140 burgundy (EF nib) - Iroshizuku Konpeki

Gimborn 300 (made by Pelikan) - Iroshizuku Asa-gao

If I get bored I may add an Aurora LE or the Montblanc Poe WE somewhere in there. They're waiting on the bench for the time being, jiggling their legs ("Put me in, coach! I'm ready!"). :D
