Wow! I just had a terible realization! I've played on the computer or worked in the basement all day and haven't written a word with any of my pens! I'm getting my (new to me) Parker 51 flighter out to at least work the Sunday Crossword before I go to bed!

I now have six Parker Vectors with a wide variety of calligraphic and medium to fine writing tips laying around. Will figure out eventually how to label them. The stainless steel nibs work fine, although stiff and unresponsive.

Was reading about how the Great Chief Justice John Marshall started session by first ceremoniously trimming his quill. Nothing started until his nib was cut to his satisfaction. I have a sharp Victorinox 'pen' knife. Maybe will find a goose feather and try cutting one myself.

My 'like new' Pelikan 120 has been nicely smoothed with 1200 wet/dry grit. I have half a dozen nibs . . . a nice pen.

I used to retail LAMY and S.T. DuPont pens. Bought a Sterling CP for my Dad, now deceased. The 'sterling' was plate on the top of the cap, and LAMY never responded to my request on how to repair. The replating process might damage the spring-loaded internal clip mechanism.

So, as I live in New Mexico and have the tools, will cut a piece of turqouise to cap the damaged plating. I can inset it . . . to keep the original pen dimensions.

That is a nice combination, isn't it Bill? My red auroloide Optima is filled with Majestic Blue, and I love this ink flowing from that Aurora medium nib.

Today I used these:

1927 lapis Parker Duofold Sr. (F nib), filled with Private Reserve D.C. Supershow Blue

old style black Omas Paragon (F nib), filled with Omas Blue

green waves Wing Sung 842 (F nib), filled with Waterman Florida Blue

red/black swirl ebonite Edoisn Herald (F Aurora nib), filled with Diamine Majestic Blue

Brightened up my workday today using my black Waterman Edson with F nib...smooth...

At home made writing out some checks for bills less painful by using my handsome Churchill Dartmoor, with buttery smooth IM nib...and my great black Stipula Florentia tuned by nibmeister Mike at Mike-It-Work...

All in all, a good pen day....
