Two Waterman Edsons (Sapphire and Ruby) both with OGL nibs and loaded up with Blue Homebrew and Diamine Claret (to write postcards for the request here).

At today's gaming session, I intended to take notes with my Parker 51 Vac (XF point, PR Ebony Blue), but for some reason it didn't want to write (worked fine when I got it home), so I wrote with my backup pen, a Wing Sung 233 (F, also with Ebony Blue). Yes, that's a $5 pen filling in when the one I paid $85 for balked...

Does not always write loving messages.

Does not always foot up columns correctly.

Does not always sign big checks.

A 1922 Edward Todd for Tiffany. It's GF and utterly lovely! I got it at the Ohio Pen Show a couple of weeks ago. I'm using Private Reserve Chocolat in it because I lent my Waterman Havana, how my favorite, to my cousin's wife. This is a wonderful pen. A little fragile, i.e., I can't move it too fast or ink globs may end up on nearby surfaces, but it's perfect for my hand and just glorious on the page!

My Pelikan's supply of Manuscript Brown finally ran dry today - but by luck I had stuck my Sailor 1911 Profit in my shirt pocket too! And I keep a bottle of Waterman's Florida Blue (don't you?!) at work - so a quick fill has me journaling with my large Sailor 1911 with its EF nib done by that wonderful nibmeister Michael Masuyama! Ain't life grand!

I was carrying 4 pens with me today: MB 149 F nib with Noodler's HOD, Filcao Silvia Ivory & Horn F oblique nib with Visconti Sepia, Kaweco 771 F nib with Noodler's Green, and a Pelikan 600 F nib with a mix of Parker Blue Quink & Pelikan Royal Blue. The MB and Filcao were (and still are) in my pocket, while the Pel and Kaweco were in my portfolio.)

Last night I was using my other 149 with the XF nib and Aurora Blue to copy articles out of old newspapers at the local historical society. A much cooler way to do it than going to the xerox machine. (And easier, as the old papers are bound in hard covers which are a bear to manhandle onto a photocopier.)

"Here was a man who had said, with his wan smile, that once he realized that he would never be a protagonist, he decided to become, instead, an intelligent spectator, for there was no point in writing without serious motivation." - Casaubon referring to Belbo, Foucault's Pendulum.

Parker "51" Cedar Blue Vac fill with lined sterling cap, medium nib.

Cross Townsend, herringbone pattern, medium nib.

Aurora Optima black with gold trim, medium nib.

Change is inevitable, except from vending machines.
