Today I used only two pens, which is somewhat unusual for me:

Pelikan M805 Black, oblique broad nib, Herbin Vert Empire

Montblanc Jules Verne, broad nib, Aurora Blue

My 1st fountain pen ever. My Retro 51 Tornado. I sent it in to Retro to get the cap replaced and for some reason they also replaced the nib and it went from a glassy smooth Schmidt nib to some awful scratchy Retro 51 house nib. I called them up and they found my old nib on the repairman's table and they sent it in. Ah, back to what it used to be. :)

Today hopefully I'll be doing the final tweaking on a Stipula Model T regrind. This is the first time that I've reworked a titanium nib and it's rather fascinating work at that.

Today I used my two Wing Sung 230 for the newspaper crosswords at work; tonight, barring complications, I'll be using my freshly restored Inkograph for my journal entry.

Does not always write loving messages.

Does not always foot up columns correctly.

Does not always sign big checks.

Today I go back to basic by choosing the LAMY 2000 with extra-fine golden hooded nib, filled with Parker Quink Washable Blue.

And I encounter the same problem again. It is hard to be capped.

And I prefer capping to locate my thumb and index finger just ABOVE those metal ear.

A Parker 45 Arrow in black with silver fittings. I never stop admiring the clean elegance of this simple classic pen.

Today I am going to be retesting a few of my pens; Nakaya Piccolo XXF Soft nib with added flex, Nakaya Heki Tamenuri XXF Full Flex nib, Stipula Model T XXF new type of titanium flex nib, a couple of Pelikan M205's and a Sailor Sapporo EF nib. I have had some problems with the Nakaya's for three years and this is a last ditch effort for me and Mr. Mottishaw to find a way to correct the ink flow problems that I have been having with them despite our best efforts so far. If any of you pray, please pray for my poor little Nakaya's.
