Today was a Lamy 2000 loaded with J Herbin Lierre Sauvage. Actually used it to create a deck design on a napkin at lunch!

Today I picked up 3

Waterman Hemisphere with Waterman black, for all my daily writting

Pelikan M100 with Diamine China Blue, for my journal entries and non government paperwork

Visconti Monte Carlo with Noodler's Tieniman, for editing all the paperwork that comes across my desk.

Mmmm! Jimmie! This is some serious gourmet s**t! Usually, me and Vince would be happy with some freeze-dried Taster's Choice right, but he springs this serious GOURMET s**t on us! What flavor is this?

I don't need you to tell me how freaking good my coffee is, okay? I'm the one who buys it. I know how good it is. When Bonnie goes shopping she buys S**T. I buy the gourmet expensive stuff because when I drink it I want to taste it.

Did some jotting and journaling this morning with a charcoal Safari filled with PR Tanzanite. This afternoon's journal writing was with a blue auroloide Aurora Optima filled with Omas Roma Blue.

Since I was mostly working outside and enjoying the day off today, that is all the writing I did.

I'm using a Yafa Cartridge (from Office Depot), when I can get it to write. I'm not very happy with the Foray refills I bought with it (extremely hard to start and stops writing frequently), but with the cartridges that came with the pen the only problem is occasionally stops, most quickly rectified by unscrewing the barrel and squeezing the cartridge. I read on another thread that a thorough cleaning may help (presumably removing mold release and oils from manufacture); I'll try that, but I'm also planning to get a converter and start using either Noodler's or Private Reserve ASAP.

FWIW, I've been away from fountain pens for more than thirty years (my last one was a Shaeffer with the white dot on the top of the clip, I forget the model but it was lever fill, bought around 1973-1975); I'm glad to see they're still available and can still be economical. :D Now if the ink supply in an international cartridge would last more than 10-12 pages... :bonk:

Does not always write loving messages.

Does not always foot up columns correctly.

Does not always sign big checks.

The first two are smoother but the last two feel as if you are really writing.

Since I retired I managed to purchase again on EBaay all the pens I used maybe 50 years ago; some were lost, some stolen!, some just plain worn out; Parker, Sheaffer, Waterman, Swan. They are now my treasured possessions. Currently I am using Parker 51's - all the nibs have been ground to write fine-medium normally but when I turn the pen over and write with the back of the nib, they have been smoothed to write (quite) fine - all my pens are like this - two nibs for the price of one! I use maninly violet or blue ink; I have a weakness for gold filled Parker 51's

I have the following pens that I carry around:

1. A silver Sheaffer Triumph Imperial - Pelikan Ink (Black) - Medium nib

2. A black Sheaffer Prelude - Pelikan Ink (Black) - Broad nib

3. A black Lamy Safari - Camel Ink (Red) - Medium nib

4. A blue Pelikan P460 - Camel Ink (black) - Borad nib

I have not been able to lay my hands on Sheaffer Skrip in black. For those not in the know, the Camel ink that I use is a locally made in India and is cheap but decent. Will post a pictures of my pens later.

One common question I keep hearing from people here is why I bother to use fountain pens. Gets a bit tough explaining. :)

I love my pens. I hope more would love their pens (and pencils). An increasingly digital world worries me.

It's a shared problem around here but not to those who have had the experience, welcome to FPN!
