What Pens Are You Using Today?

I'm restless so I switched out my PR (Lake Placid?) Blue cart from a broad Pel Script to a Pel Jr. Writes just as well, but I already had one calligraphy pen loaded.

Two, if you count the new Plumix that I still can't quite get to write well. Love the ink color, though.

I bought a Chinese fountain pen off eBay a while ago for all of 1 cent. Postage was $5.99... :-)

It's a fine point, converter fill. I don't seem able to put it down! It's a reasonably stiff nib, but it's so nice to use - I just keep coming back to it all the time.

Regards,

It's the shipping that kills you. :roflmho:

I'd like to see a pic of that pen. Today I'm still trying to get 'Squidward' (Pilot Plumix) to behave.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

This is unusual for me, but I only used one pen all day today. Probably due to running from one obligation to another all morning, then having to sit and stare at my laptop all afternoon.

The more relaxed part of the day came when I was able to write, and that task was ably performed by a 1927 lapis Parker Duofold Jr. with a delightful semi-flex fine nib. The pen, as always, is filled with Visconti Blue.

Well, I am about to put a second pen into action, a Waterman CF with a stub-like fine nib, filled with Aurora Blue. I will use it to pen a note in the card my wife will find tomorrow morning wishing her a happy birthday.

One of the nice things about being a member of a fountain pen club, like the Ottawa Fountain Pen Society, is that you get to meet really nice fellow aficionados. Some among us are writers, some are collectors, and as one of the OFPS members said at our monthly meeting last night, some are more accumulators than collectors. Then there are those who enjoy playing with pens. Some of them all really good at it. They love it. Like Gerry (who'll get to read what I'm writing at some point), George, Bernie, Neal, and Rocco... the list is a bit long, so I'll stop here.

Last night, Rocco came to the meeting with a vintage Montblanc 642 which I bought on eBay a few weeks ago. It had been described as being in "working order", which was not entirelly accurate. At the last meeting in February, Rocco had agreed to have a look at it. He didn't promise anything, but... I was patient.

Today, I had a lot of reading to do at work. Took lots of notes. I spent the whole day writing with my new old Montblanc.

Today I am sporting in pocket my brand new (received yesterday) Pilot Vanishing point, black with gold accents-fine nib filled with Noodlers HOD. What a great pen. Nib is finer than my Lamy Safari EF, it writes with the lightest touch to paper. Guys, I hate to play the devil's advocate, especially in this economy, but if you don't have one...you're missing something quite unique. Very handy to carry and use, the clip is not a problem for me.

In my trusty leather bag I am carrying the standard workhorses: Lamy Safari Vista with Lami Black cart., fine nib and its partner the matching MP. A really spectacular combo for work, I love them.

Oh, yes one more thing, A 29 cent Papermate stick pen..........well you don't think I'm lending out my FPs do you?

Have a great day everyone.

I love my Waterman Phileas. I had heard that the Harley Davidson Waterman was just a Phileas without the brass insert. I got one (Flames version) cheap off Ebay and have it filled with PR Fiesta Red. It does write nice, I may have to do a review/comparison.

A Waterman, Cartridge fill that I can not identify. I bought it as part of a lot. It was Made in France, has an 18K Two Tone nib, and is thin and made of Plastic with Gold coloured trim. It writes quite well. It is black, and has a clip reminiscent of an early Parker Duofold, but somewhat longer. I can not post a picture, as I have not Photographed it. Maybe some day I will, and ask for help identifying it. for now, I will simply enjoy writing with it.

My Bexley Simplicity loaded with PR purple haze.

I'd rather spend my money on pens instead of shoes and handbags.

Well, I hate to say this, but the pen I was using as my reading note-taker last night was a 14 kt Cross Century.

I know, I know... It gets even worse this morning. The only pen I have out of my case is a Waldmann Epoque...

I know... Blasphemy. I'm so ashamed... :bawl:

Today I am using a Parker 51 stub with J Herbin Bleu Myosotis and a Harley Davidson Waterman (Flames version) loaded with PR Fiesta Red. I don't much care for the looks of the Waterman, but it writes so very nice! I had actually bought this pen for the nib as I have a Phileas that skips. Sanford wanted $38 for a new nib, I got the HD on ebay for $15 (including shipping). However, the HD nib has the "HD" logo emblazoned on it, so it just does not feel right to swap out the nibs (yeah, I know, OCD and all that!)
