What Pens Are You Using Today?

A Shule 0.5mm black thing that was bought in a moment of curiosity as to how anyone could make anything so cheaply, it is now set to give me an infinity of displeasure.

Were I not so mean I would give it a flying lesson into the nearest round file.

I admit to purchasing what is probably the same item from similar motives, but I cannot say I have found it at all displeasing. Rather it has proven excellent for making annotations, laying down a clean thin line of Waterman's Red on high-speed copy paper without giving any sort of trouble.

That & a Parker 45 constitute today's pens for me, although I keep ripping up what I have been writing & starting again.

In fairness, the pen has grown on me over a few days and the nib is smoother having been used some, but the pen is a thin little thing and there isnt much pleasure in looking at its hard and modern lines

As you can probably guess from my reference to the 45, I don't mind a thin pen. I know a lot of FPNers express a preference for fatter barrels, but so far I haven't found anything bigger than my Waterman Phileas easy to handle. The Shule certainly isn't an aesthetic masterpiece, but at least it isn't shoddy.

I'm writing out my black Hero 616---it seems to be drying up of its Levenger Raven Black. This time I'll probably fill it with something less recalcitrant.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I received a new Pilot Fermo in the mail this past weekend - wow what a great pen!! I'm having a blast using it. Loaded it up with Noodlers ink and it is a joy to write with - I like the feel of a heavy pen in the hand, this is smooth - very nice pen

Today, in my work bag, I have inked and ready:

  1. Mont Blanc: MEISTERSTÜCK CHOPIN
  2. Aurora Optima 996 Blue
  3. Duke Silver Key

Using either Aurora Blue or PR Supershow Blue in all.

Just in case I need to sign an original the blue always makes spotting it very easy!

Took four legal pad pages of notes at a board meeting today with my new Parker 51 Demi in Teal (I actually think it's too dark for teal).

And I hadn't filled it up in three days before then!

I'm Andy H and I approved this message.
