Just inked a new Hero 616 with Levenger Raven Black, only to find that dreaded bead of ink hanging from the feed. I wiped it well, wrote for a while, and put it away. Uh-ohh, look what day it is....

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Raw Danitio Takumi running Namiki Black (and yes it does smell bad ;-) But will be filling it with J Herbin Perle Noire as soon as I can get to Swishers or Pen Lover's Paradise for a new bottle or two. (Normal no affiliation)

I have found a sword to compete with my "51". They are so different so probably not fair to compare. I will say the Takumi is my new favorite modern for sure!!

Cheers,

Today I am using a Parker Duofold International size, marbled red, 1990 model, filled with Parker Blue-Blue Black. I have always found the Parkers to be smooth, reliable everyday companions. I have chosen this pen above all others in my collection, because it is a beautiful writing instrument and I enjoy the threaded cap and it is a joy to write with, no leaks, splatters or inky fingers, no soiled pockets. Does anyone else here use their modern Duofold everyday?

My medium nib Centennial Pearl and Black is my signature pen, and is always inked with Parker or Montblanc blue and ready to use on my desk. As I have gotten to the stage where I cannot keep all of my pens inked, it's one that always is.

I'm Andy H and I approved this message.

I am traveling and taking a SQL 2005 class this week, so I used a black Hero 616 full of Skrip blue / black for taking notes and a burgundy Sheaffer Sentinel .9mm mechanical pencil for writing marginalia in the textbook. I didn't think that I would be writing as much as I have and I kinda wish that I would have brought a different pencil with a thinner lead (quietly laments to himself the .3mm Namiki pencil that his father was smitten by and thus lost from the rotation).

The Hero has really impressed me! It was super cheap and has been perfectly, boringly, unswervingly well behaved so far. I didn't even flush it out; just inked it and started writing. 8 pages of mixed notes and diagrams so far and not a hiccup.

So, ianmedium, you are something of a Transcendentalist fan?

Oh, you could say that! For me, reading the likes of Thoreau or Emerson just makes more sense to my world. I try to base my life and work in some small way on their principles. I take it you are a fan as well?

All the best.
