Today seems to be Preppy Day, with a yellow Platinum Preppy and a custom mix of gold ink that includes Fahrney's Copper and J Herbin Bouton Dor.

Also, my blue-black Preppy was really hard to start after a long hiatus, but it's finally going. This is the least black blue-black color I've ever seen, but I like it. Kind of a steel blue.

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

In addition to my usual favorites (Mb Hemingway, Aurora Optima, Edison Pearl, Sheaffer Flat-Top, P51 Special, Estie 2668, Mb StarWalker, Conklin Mark Twain), I'm putting this Sheaffer Admiral through the paces.

Can I say something? I just want to say one thing. One word. "Feather-Touch." Wow.

I'm not sure what Dave (blopplop) meant about "weak blindcap," but I had a very hard time twisting it. Ack. More like STRONG blindcap. Very strong and very stubborn. I tried twisting and twisting; I tried soaking the butt-end in hot water; I tried needlenose pliers. Ha ha ha! You want to know what worked? The WRENCH!

Yes, I got the wrench out, and one gentle-strong twist*, and I was finally able to ink the pen (Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo) and try the Feather-Touch, and... it is AMAZING!

BTW, Dave shined this Admiral up nice-nice, like Parade Day. Thank you, Dave! It's a fabulous pen! And the Feather-Touch nib is AMAZING!

It's amazing.

*YES. I covered the blindcap with soft cloth before applying the Wrench. Duh.

Edit: It's like I'm becoming a Pen Whisperer.

A black schoolboy Platignum cartridge pen from mid 70s with Graham's Green Ink, not as bad as its low £1 purchase price would suggest.

But I wont be using it again after today either!
