Giving the Parkers a rest over Christmas. Filled in a couple of cards for people I'll be seeing today with a Waterman Expert II in medium (that fat Waterman medium line is great for cards and the like), and had another test scribble with this Pelikan M200 after giving it a thorough flushing.

Today I am using the Lamy Safari (matt black with medium nib) along with the Lamy blue ink cartridge that I received for Christmas :)

I've read lots of reviews about the Safaris and I see what everybody means about the pen being well made and sturdy. I've been told that I "... have to use this pen ..." which means it shall become my 'daily' pen for carrying with me and using at work :D

I had some nibs reground and smoothed, so I have a plethora of pens in rotation in order to experience them anew:

Sheaffer Blue PFM IV

Pelikan m800 (Black)

Bexley Tenth Anniversary in Woodgrain Ebonite

Lamy 2000

MontBlanc 149

Wearever Pacemaker (final version)

Visconti Wall Street (B&W Striped Celluloid)

I received my Danitrio Tamenuri Mikado from Kevin a few days ago and I haven't wanted to write with anything else since. The pen, as many of you know, is enormous and yet it is light and shaped so that it fits into my fairly small hand beautifully. The nib is a "soft" fine. I've filled it with Noodlers Red Black (which approximates the color of the pen). I am an over the top left hander and the ink flow is such that I find no problem with smudging even using some pretty slick Clairefontaine paper.

I chose the clipless version since the pen really is too big to fit comfortably in a shirt pocket. The only marking on the pen (other than on the two-tone 18k gold nib) is the signature in Kongi of the artist in gold color on the section.

Maybe in time I'll tire of using it, but I wouldn't bet that way.

Now the question is what to do with the other 200 pens in my collection.

Since this is my first post, I'm not sure the image will show up. If it does, you should note that it is Kevin Cheng's, not mine.

Today I happen to be using two small pens for most of my work:

a bright mottled yellow Arnold with a medium nib and Camel Permanent Black ink;

a striated gray claspless Sheaffer Tuckaway with a fine nib and Sheaffer Skrip Black.

I also have a bunch of others at hand, but haven't had occasion to use them yet.
